3090 is super good in 3d rendering like on Vray, blender, arnold etc that have nearly 20% improved rendering speed vs 3080. The 24GB VRAM is a big advantage to it, no need to buy expensive quadro for the big VRAM, just get a nice RTX3090.

Huh?

It's only hitting 8k with very specific games with very specific settings and DLSS turned on. It's not a 8k60 card otherwise, because if not then with nvidia's logic - the 3080 is also an 8k card if you turn everything down to low anyways.  rolleyes.gif
*
It is the first card that can technically support 8K 60fps gaming without serious hiccups like what people had tried before

ASUS TUF 3090 is once again cheaper than the ZOTAC variant.

RM7208 vs RM7379.

Gigabyte Gaming OC 3090 is RM7899.

walao saw ltt video that Nvidia confirmed RTX3090 has some Titan specific optimization disabled, that's only for the real titan cards. Seems like only advantage of rtx3090 is big VRAM for 3d rendering and not really for things like specviewperf type of apps

if they not gonna blamd da caps its the vrm. that also zotac cheapened out

MLCC have lower tolerance towards higher temperature, prone to cracking and piezo effects compared to poscaps. Good that TUF cards have good cooling and the temps on the backside pcb is not high too

QUOTE(shikimori @ Sep 26 2020, 04:57 PM)
sad to report but im getting crash as well after about 40 minutes of gameplay on forza horizon 4 . Din even oc ...wtf

and my card is gagygaybyte gaming oc 3090 . Hopefully , my tuf 3080 wont have same issue . Still waiting for it to arrive today...
*
Either there will be BIOS update for the card, or RMA with fixed card. You can use the TUF in the meantime, lower issues maybe. What PSU you are using now? You can also try lower the power limit in the afterburner, maybe try 90% and 80% and see the stability

Using Corsair HX1200i psu . I did lower the core by -50 and power limit to 95 which fixed the issue so far ..
Cant believe spend almost 8k and using gimp card . As for the TUF ninjavan drop the ball din get delivery yesterday  cry.gif  have to wait on monday

Don't get me wrong it is still is a powerful card even when it is gimp . Had so much fun playing Forza horizon 4 at 4k HDR 100fps ++ ultra settings , Call of duty modern warfare at 4k T_T  thumbup.gif
Screw PS5  PC master race all the way . Time to get myself a wireless gaming keyboard and mouse

*screenshot not at 4k since upload through forza camera feature .. For some reason screenshot on geforce experience does not not work when HDR turned on .
Also , does anyone experience any blank display going on an off when enabling g-sync for LG oled TVs ? Had to turned it off since its not working properly ..

Sadly on reddit got. Hardware unboxed got TUF and they're experiencing crashes as well.
*
well we don't know their config, I also crashed on my r9 290 when i used cheap PSU last time, changed to good PSU and no more issues, maybe things like using single PCI-E cable from the PSU etc

This is pretty obvious, 3080 cost almost twice of the PS4 pro.
Plus PS4 pro still using the old CPU architecture from Bulldozer era and GCN GPU, both are squeezed into tiny APU sweat.gif

not to mention PS4 pro is a full system.
*
well alot of games on PS4 Pro are using checkerboard rendering so the PS4 Pro technically rendered half the resolution.

For reddit, I agree with you. But I would expect HU to have good PSU. But yeah, until they reveal the full system specs, we won't know for sure.

Let those sites & AIBs with a variety of hardware do their tests. I'm guessing we'll know more over the next few weeks.
*
Hmm the statement is vague, he didn't mentioned HU themselves have experienced crashing, but just state "TUF crashed just as much".
