Alright but then lets just keep it clear for those without quality PSU's.

1) Your PCI-E Slot will supply ~66W as 3.3V rails are not being used for about a decade on most GPU's.
2) Your 8PIN (which actually is a 6+2PIN) will supply 150W BUT if you have a cheap PSU this rail will be 20A hence 240W no matter how many 6+2PIN headers you see. 2 of them don't always mean 300W
3) If your PSU then comes with cheap cables such as AWG20 (0.81mm diameter) those will be extremely hot

All this can and will damage your components over time.

This surely is a reason why NVIDIA is pushing for implementation of 12Pin.

NVIDIA called it a Titan class card since it's great for rendering, machine learning, editing videos. If someone plays games on top of all that, then 3090 is a good choice for them. For these creators and professionals, they'll compare the 3090 to the SLI Titans and Quadros in their builds vs a 2080TI like gamers.

If all you do is just gaming, then you're fine with the 3080.

Why some are considering the 3090 for gaming is partly due to NVIDIA saying that it does 8k 60fps which is a gaming metric (FPS @ given res). It just remains to be seen if that holds up for demanding games, which we'll hear more about in at least 4 more days.

Not running server .. just game and vmware
for hackintosh. Impulsive buying and based on the 3090 benchmark leak additional rm 4k doesnt justify 10% performance increase.
See 1st once got the pc . My current pc only ryzen 5 3600 with b450 strix no gpu though. Dunno if people would be interested.
