OKAY...

again, you win

Nothing fancy

Its still too early to tell

We're not a fortune teller

Can you guess the future that what things can happen??

I can tell you based on precedent history of ban action (see US Prohibition) that as long as China AI demands remain high & keep increasing, 4090 stocks in any variant, will be scarce and prices will remain high or higher.

Significant qtys ori 4090s will likely be smuggled, and whatever cut version could be further banned by USA until its too crippled to do AI, and whats left of a 4090DDDD will primarily be China exclusive so less hopes you might get a derated 4090 in liew of high demand.

Also depending on how nvidia can keep cutting down 4090 to meet USA satisfaction, it could overlap into 4080 territory and that could be next target for kena ban so even 4080 can suffer the same issue if China cannot get 4090 and turn to 4080 for AI chip.

It all depends how serious USA will carry out their threats to keep lowering the ban limit or if they decided 4800TPP will remain the threshold moving forward.

Hopefully Full 4k support 120hz above and they fix the power cable shit issue.
*
Will need to see if evolved 12V2x6 has similar burn issues. Newer 4090 have started using it but maybe due to GPU shortages, not many new owners yet to give comment.

But the bigger question is will these be available in sufficient numbers or majority will get harvested for AI too.

I just hope China manages to develop their own stuff rather than relying on these companies, than we regular folks wont get screwed.
*
If China managed to develop their own stuff on par with USA & Taiwan, then these 2 are screwed. And if the Western hegemonies are screwed so will we.

Realistically, I am hoping all AI players, inc China & USA, can turn all those bitcoin ASIC leftover from mining era into AI farm and leave the gamer GPU alone. This way the gaming world wont get screwed anywhere. (Oh wait we are still screwed with ever falling ringgit making stuff expensive even if China didnt do anything)

Leaked pricing

4080 Super expected to be a mere 3-5% faster than the 4080 but $200 less.

4070 Ti Super is allegedly on-par with a 4080 for $799 - - could potentially be the best-valued 40-series GPU (basically a ~$400 drop from a 4080).

Expect more WTS for 40-series and (possibly) price reduction across the non-Super series.  tongue.gif
*
Dont be too happy, based on some reviewers theory, those nonSupers close in performance ie 4070 TI & 4080 might be discontinued so those Supers effectively will take the slots & price point of current nonSupers. Any nonSupers remaining stocks might just be sold perhaps with slight discounts until stocks is cleared.

Why don't you link the articles, how are posting images of articles any helpful to those needing more context?
That's literally the point of my comment, and yes, we should be happy as this is the first time in a long time Nvidia has "dropped" the prices (Nvidia's "drop" - they would rather release a new series instead of dropping prices) and this is going to affect the entire 40-series line up for the foreseeable future.
*
If Nvidia gonna sell 4070TI Super as 4080 replacement at same prices how is that a price drop or even any better? For gamer noobs it sound like going down a class (xx80series to xx70TIseries).
Smart dealers will hike 4080 bcoz they know they can up its pricing if 4070TiS comes in at the same price level.

smart dealers gonna hike it with what supply if Nvidia is not producing them anymore?

With whatever cards they have on hand. Reminder that Msians arent as affluent as Western gamers so stocks will exist for much longer here.

1st time see refresh model price lower than base.. see how nvidia is despo cos base model sales is terrible

Those retailers who hold their price for 4080 at retail until now… biggrin.gif
*
If Supers really come in below pricing of the ori nonSupers that is really better than good news and it will certainly put pressure on local sellers but I still say lets see what will happen as local market has always defied the movement of global market anyways (ie Radeons in USA usually sold 1 tier pricing below Geforce but in Msia it is sold at same price segments).

The pessimist in me predicts the nonSupers will remain at their price points, selling out until no stock, while the Supers might bump up in pricing (+RM 200-300). Thereby create a different product segmentation than the global market. They can do that as distros pakat to set prices when they no need to compete with Nvidia directly (FE not officially sold here). Like it or not we have to get our GPUS from them.

already more than 4070 old price:

*
In USD, 4070Super is same launch price MSRP as 4070

If 4070 is predicted to drop to $549 likely it wont last long as it bumps against 4060TI 16GB MSRP. So either one will have to die.

But USD is one thing, local Msian pricing is more relevant for us.

Also these are FE prices which is not relevant to Msia as their not officially sold here.

Take whatever prices teased with grain of salt. Wait until retail prices appear on local listings.

Imho 4080Super is very compelling for those wanting to run 4K but could not afford/did not get a 4090 when it was still available.

Its confirmed the OG cards will be phased out in replaced by the Supers. So those who hoping for price drops, dont hold your breath. The OG cards may get discounts by retailers to clear stock but it wont be for long.

Dang good you got a free upgrade, I thought only EVGA does that. Then again 2 times RMA is not common and something is defo wrong with their product quality.

Might consider to sell that Giga card and get from another, maybe MSI or Asus for peace of mind.

Generally positive reviews all around for the 4070 Super. Offering up to 25% performance uplift over the 4070 at $599
*
4070S is the most value of Supers but if u think about it, its what the OG 4070 should have been from the start rather than having the same exact Cuda cores as predecessor 3070.

And for some reason, 4080S is not the 4080 Ti despite its AD103 core being fully unlocked.

sorry new bee here. never bought a premium gpu on its launch before. I registered my interest in 4080 super on Nvidia Msia website. normally how it works during the launch? is it based on a lucky draw system?
*
In Western countries, Nvidia themselves make & sells these GPUs known as Founders Edition (FE), one could register interest to book & buy FE cards direct from Nvidia.
But in most parts of the world inc Msia, FE are not sold and you have to rely on 3rd party GPU board makers ie Asus, MSI, etc. I reckon your register with Nvidia Msia is only for them to give a list of distros to these 3rd party board makers.

Maybe they are planning for 4080Ti based on AD102.

Perhaps that was their original intention but now all AD102 cores are being used for 4090, 4090 D and other AI cards.

Time line...

4070 out (USD) > ringgit crash > 4070 price drop (USD)

Think about it.

Also Msian market have always different reaction to global market changes.

AMD Radeons are value for money elsewhere and typically priced 1 tier below equivalent RTX but in Msia they are priced the same.
Geforce prices here will take time to cut price or perhaps never, when global price cut ady happen.
SSD local prices no longer makes sense. During 2023 price drops, SSD prices here only drop a little. At end 2023 even before NAND price rise, sellers here ady start mark up like crazy and yet global SSD prices foresee are gonna rise 30-50% this year so how much more costlier will local distros sell their SSD be.

Too bad Msian market are like cartels, it comes to a point that ordering from Amazon SG is getting much cheaper inspite of the exchange rate.

display matter, surf internet/play games screen sometimes goes dark for few seconds, but sound still got
*using same monitor to play ps5 and switch, also had tried either displayport or hdmi cable (from ps5 or switch) to connect to gpu also same laugh.gif
*
That sounds bad, did you move the PC around or sometimes take GPU in out? Sometimes bad driver updates could also be an issue. Hope you good luck in getting it claimed.

Not bad. Price range of AIBs here RM3000 - RM3800. This is a really good pricing indicator for 4070 Ti Super (aka the 10% slower than 4080 GPU) and the 4080 Super.
*
Thats a very good price tho its dual fan model. Imho for such a power GPU better to get a triple fan version, be slightly more expensive.
