Intel will not be able to compete with high end offering from AMD and Nvidia , not another decades.
intel GPU will remains at low end and mid end, you cant just suddenly catch up, even if someone at nvidia/amd jump ship, the designer will start design from scratch.

for example Zen microarchitecture from AMD, Jim Keller joined in 2012, took them 5 years from design to ship the first Ryzen CPU.
then another 5 years come out with 128c/256t EPYC.
*
If thats the case then ARC will DOA if market dont catch on & support them. Gamers will GG

you all say give up, just plan to buy my first RTX 3060 GPU
*
Its a solid 1080P mid to low Graphics card but too bad it doesn't have the GPU power to make use of all that 12GB VRAM.

Assume Intel does not give up (again?) and continue to offer good driver/optimization, they will succeed.

Just look at how AMD survived with Bulldozer, Sony decided the Jaguar was good enough then put it into PS4  sweat.gif
what saved AMD probably was the PS4 deal and their GPU business.

Intel still have revenue from their CPU business, im sure they will allocate R&D cost for their gpu if they want to succeed.
*
Its all about market growth potential. If their GPU cannot breakthru rapidly & GPU sales continue decline they will pull out. Look at NUC which they had majority share, but they still pull out as that niche did not grow.

not only that, gigabyte 4080 gaming oc was selling at 4999 last month as well
maybe we can see this price again sooner or later

Err no to Giga and their board cracking. Get a better long lasting AIB.

RTX4070 = 45fps @ 1440p in aveum  tongue.gif
RTX3070Ti = 33 fps  bye.gif
*
Despite that, looks to me like a well optimised game. The 12GB in 6700XT didnt give it a leg up over the 3070Ti neither did the 16GB 4060Ti had a good margin over its castrated 8GB twin brother. So it was down to sheer GPU performance.

3060 12g price around 13xx-14xx, 4060 8g around 14xx-15xx

so more to personal pref. price diff not that much actually. 4060 better for gaming at 1080p with better ray tracing perf, 3060 adv. is just 12gb vram if for maybe AI computing stuff
*
Buy 3000series or Radeon 6000series as long as stocks still sold. Let their latest gen shitty value cards collect dust in their storage and hopefully that will teach them a lesson to give better value in the 5000series GPU.

This is quite legit and understandable that using 3rd party connections will run the risk of voiding warranty, which is why CableMod has guaranteed that any burnt GPU due to their cable will be replace at CM own cost.

guy, how to check on app monitoring fan number is what fan?
yes i just get RTX 3060, as i worry casing not fit big GPU, i buy colorful mini
when running game, fan 4 very high speed, at 3600rpm

and yes i got posted on other section thread

Edit, already know, is PSU fan speed, no idea will get troble or not, over 3k rpm
*
One easy way to know which fan, just stick ur ear towards the loudest you can hear. 3000 rpm is no joke mang and no way it is not audible

Another more technical way is to use monitoring programs ie openhwmonitor or librehwmonitor to temporary set that fan to 0rpm then try find which fan has stopped or look at which temps are rising.

already edited last line, is PSU fan
i try some lighter game like GTA 5, is about 2.5k rpm, all setting turn to high
then try like spogebob epic setting, about 3k rpm,
and game running stable even half hour

user posted image

wrongly press ESC close the window when screenshot fan

yeah i get this RTX price RM1208 when 9.9 sale
*
Was wondering why ur PSU fan is running so high until I realise ur rig is an OEM PC, which meant it likely have those proprietary PSU with a dinky fan. For ur system a 3060 12GB will do fine. Yeah 3060Ti will perform better but so too is the power draw and Im not sure ur OEM PSU will able to support it.

Not just for Corsair lar, other OEM PSU with same pin outs can use it. Cos they re based on the same specific psu design (eg, strix gold series are based on seasonic focus gold, so does several other major brands psu).
*
Not necessarily true and there are caveats as 3rd party brands do do sometimes make changes to the OEM PSU platform which was based on. Often those like Corsair ady have their system of modular connects so any OEM PSU will have to adapt to match their pinouts, and this goes the same for other tier one brands. @bluemind is correct to point out that the only surety of compatibility is within its own brand and even Corsair themselves are not fully integrated; having 4 types of PSU modular system.

It is unnecessary to risk it, if not sure just email to the PSU brand to get confirmation if cable A is compatible with their PSU B.

why is RTX 3080 (Ti) still ridiculously expensive in shopee?

Because it is wearing a Tie so it Taxes Idiots Everywhere. And Nvidia knows they can do it and people will buy them biggrin.gif

is Colorful a good brand?

im considering their 4070 NB EX-V

I put as Tier C brand because it hails from China. But it is a solid C tier brand whose GPU are comparable or better than Taiwanese brands low end models.

branding it as C tier just bcs is from China doesnt seem right

what i want is objective opinions.
*
Branding is all about perspective, when compared with B tiers (Palit PNY Zotac) and A tier (MSI Asus). You know them more and what to expect. Isnt this the reason why ur asking here?

If you want objective (as in reviews or what?) then you can look around Youtube or tech review sites, search for Colorful BattleAx or NB EX and make ur own judgement. I also reviewed my own 3060Ti from another C tier China brand Manli here if you like to read about it https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...341702&hl=manli

Colorful has different models of the same GPU catered for different price & segmentations, some like the Vulcan are as good as A tiers ROG Strix but so is the prices. Then there is BattleAx lineup which is OEM spec and thus have standard performance but comes with attractive prices. So know which you want and which you can afford.

im torn between 4070 and 7800 XT

i fully understand that 7800 raster performance is better

but i would like to play some games with DLSS and RT as well..
*
LOL is it so difficult to decide? Just see which type of games you play at what type of settings and resolutions, then see reviews how they match up.

A very comprehensive comparo can be see in Techspot (HUB)
https://www.techspot.com/review/2736-geforc...radeon-7700-xt/ (Dont mind the 7700XT title as the GPU is really the 7800XT)

And this conclusion by them sums up what you should do: "In terms of performance, the Radeon 7800 XT and GeForce RTX 4070 are generally evenly matched. However, which GPU is ultimately faster will vary based on the games you play, in which instance one could be quite a bit better than the other.

In other words, it's worth researching performance for the titles you're most interested in and here's a good sample of 45 popular PC games to provide some of that guidance."

non tie still expensive
*
Thats cuz there is more demand for 3000series now that 4000series (except 4090) was such a disappointment and high end GPU like 3080s & 3090s were made far fewer but demand for them went up. If pricing are near parity, a 4080 nonTi is the better deal.

not sure which thread to post,
just trying this game Ratchet 1080p low setting, and i dunno yet what upscale method mean so i set DLSS
i not sure why game stuck at 97fps, my monitor is 100hz

just read max, only know GPU can draw a bit over 170w
3060 12GB has TDP of 170W according to Techpowerup database so its possible you hit a thermal envelope earlier just b4 you reach ur screen refresh limit.

If you dare you could up the board power limit higher using Afterburner and see if it makes a change in FPS.

I dunno how to set those over volt or under volt it
I worry set wrong thing, cause more heat
So just let default
*
LOL! Google & Youtube is ur fren. And yes its as simple as what @zzzz52 said, and as long as its not to crazy like 20% more, its perfectly safe. Just set slider up 10% then retest and see if ur FPS goes higher than 97 just to confirm power limit isnt what is limiting ur FPS.

Only then decide if you wanna stick to OC setting just for that few more FPS or else just reset everything back to default.

dotatech selling an RTX 3060 Ti that is more expensive than 4070. how do you expect people to buy it?
*
Dotatech got lotsa inventory (or at least on paper) but its bcuz of that they are slow to update prices. Likely this was something they havent updated like since early last year maybe. Prolly if you try to buy they may have hard time to get stock.

But when eventually they do update the price drop seems a lot, at very least on par with other sellers. Like this better buy from other shops eh. How they manage to survive with such uncompetitive and slow update prices? Well they have lotsa inventory and that makes self build under one shop easy, but which comes back to my first point. Haha.

Coincidentally today I went to self collect something I recently bought. But dang I din know they permanently moved to Setia Alam doh.gif

Is it because US restriction on export of 4090 to China?
*
Everything; supply shortages, US restrictions, AI, inflation, the other AI (PMX) & his Pakatan Govt, scalpers, post Eth mining is back but only 4090 is profitable, overpriced 4080 meant more gamers willing to pay xtra for 4090, the inflation of leather jackets, useless AMD cannot compete at the very top leaving the king untouched.
