PCIE 4.0 vs PCIE 3.0 will only show how much 4.0 is worth when DirectStorage releases next year for everyone on W10 and when games actually take advantage of it. Until then, it's a pointless dick measuring contest.
I'm actually going back and fourth to PCIE 3 x8 with my 1080Ti because that card isn't fast enough to saturate 3.0 x8 anyway and I need to use that 2nd M.2 slot.
got to say Asus's TUF design makes more sense this time compared to other AIBs giving those vrams that are exceeding 100 celcius their own heatsink fins Using MLCC as to POSCAPs because of the frequencies attaching a solid nickle plate to the tubes to even the heat spread from the die and most importantly, the price doesn't even sound like the Asus we know
Exactly, I think even I will pick one up when stock are widely available seeing how good it is. Does it have 4-pin header for external fan?
this coolermaster 850w SFX are essentially 880w gospower(gospel) units actually... coolermaster PSU good or bad depends on the OEM supplier they're using. Reviews from china forums mentions that these units can run full fanless mode up to 600w so that sounds pretty good, but when the fan kicks in, it's louder than the SF750. It also comes with 10year warranty so yeah... should be good
As for 750, sustain loads at 600w makes it pretty hot so it's not ideal for a 3080 rig and thus not a consideration.
Interesting, will look into this for my next ITX build.
I dont really fancy that group they condone piracy and when you post about your setup always get label as flexer .Always toxic team green vs team red vs team blue.
No real insightful info or anything useful that you can find there . Only man child with ego
Agree with what you said. I just focus on the newcomer who are having issue with their setup or need hardware recommendation. You guys sifu here with your years of experience will be helpful for them too.
I finally manage to get GPU Asus ROG Strix!! I pointing out 2 middle finger for those computer shop that force you to purchase in bundle....... I upgrade from RTX2080s
Glad that you got it! I feel those shop which only sell bundle are unscrupulous too.
That's a fine CPU to enjoy gaming with the 3080 especially if you using 1440p monitor or better. Only need to upgrade if the game you play A LOT use all 8C/16T and stutter on the i7-8700K... or you're chasing numbers.
Thx fox support I need to save up for upgrade in future motherboard, cPu & ram......
That's great. Do check with the sifu here what to upgrade when you save up enough. I think wait for next gen CPU with DDR5 support because your setup is still very capable. Yeah you can squeeze a few more FPS out of it with a RM600 motherboard swap, but that is still an outdated dead-end socket.
Gamers Nexus Asus TUF review, he doesn't sound very interested in it in the entire video, keeps saying "this is average" ,"cooler nothing unique", *PCB is fairly typical" etc. Are all his videos so boring to watch? Dude doesn't put any emotion to it at all and feels like a chore watching him lol.
Nice channel, also like to watch Hardware Canucks, LTT, Optimus Tech and Hardware Unbox!
wait for the reviews. Latest leaked bench, even the 5800x multithreaded performance is quite close to the 3900x despite only 8 cores. Then the gaming performance advantage too.
Sounds good! just like the 3600 vs 2700 all over again!
After seeing VRAM usage from Crysis Remastered and Horizon Zero Dawn, 8-10GB looks like not enough for 2021 onwards.
I agree 4GB VRAM is insufficient, but I disagree 8-10GB is not enough at least for another 3 years, just IMO. For 1440p, that's unlikely. Fully utilize VRAM doesn't mean the game will stutter if the VRAM is slightly less.
I doubt Nvidia will release same model but with more VRAM like GTX 1060.
You are historically incorrect. The 3GB of 1060 come out AFTER the 6GB version to counter the RX470. There are indeed point in history Nvidia did release the same GPU with bigger VRAM later on, ie. GTX 960 4GB, two months after announcing GTX 960 2GB.

Is 3070 good value ? im running 1440p. Or should I go 3080
Coming from 980ti
3070 for 1440p , and 3080 for 4K ?
Yes good value. Even a 1080Ti is a huge jump for me from 980Ti. The 3070 is even better. The 3080 is a huge jump for 1080Ti. The resolution is about right unless you're aiming for 240hz 1440p, which you need both the RTX 3080 and Intel unlocked gaming CPU.
