What sort of stability issues on ryzen? Really curious because I want to get zen 3 in the future
*
My guess they will be fine. I don't have stability issue with Zen+ R7 2700X. We'll see how AMD is going to price them.

Not bad, Nvidia undercut the rumor pricing by $100.

RTX 3080 $700, also current RTX 2080S price. That triple fan Zotac cost RM3.3k

RTX 3070 $500, also current RTX 2070S price. Again triple fan Zotac cost RM2.5k

I'll be using that estimate.

3080 is really rated 320W TDP https://www.anandtech.com/show/16057/nvidia...x-3080-rtx-3090

I'll keep it out of SFFPC built on air.

Ah alright. The thing is I’ve already bought the board, though if it’s as bad as everyone says, I’ll probably just end up selling it at a minor loss!

Any b550 board recommendations?

I won't be worrying about that VRM if I'm only running 6 or 8 core CPU without OC.

most are 2.5 to 3 slots card

Yours is a B550M Steel Legend right? I think should have enough clearance since the M.2 sits underneath the GPU.

I still prefer the bland looking Zotac cards. I wish all of them had made the back plate a lot of more perforated or just expose the bare heatsink at the back where the PCB isn't covering for better airflow. See Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT.

For me it doesn't matter if they launched the faster 3070 Ti not long after the 3070 and price it the same. The 3070 is already half price of the 2080 Ti. However I am going to wait and see real world benchmark first, and entertaining commentary from Gamer Nexus, Hardware Unboxed and Linus Tech Tip.

Wondering with more developers and hardwares supporting hardware accelerated GPU scheduling and the forthcoming DirectStorage API (ie RTX IO) will CPU still be a bottleneck? 🤔 We now see the dedicated ram on GPU is doubled (12, 16, 20, 24) that of what we get in previous gens with the GPU handling more IO directly.
*
Yeap IMO the IO only solve the speed of loading high-res texture, there tons of other stuff the CPU have to process. Look at that CSGO scaling up to necessary FPS if you keep giving it faster CPU... without highres texture. Hope that with the arrival of next gen console, developer will start to fully utilize 8 cores CPU.

CPUs have to deal with draw calls. More cores gives it better capability in doing so, but it also has to be efficient in doing it.
*
That's why I say Yes CPU can still bottleneck even with RTX IO.

rtx i/o nothing to do with cpu cores.
its pcie gen 4 bandwidth

I'm replying to this post, I didn't say anything about cores. I only say Yes CPU still can bottleneck.

Wow, even the 2080Ti average below 50fps at 4k right?

Luckily my CPU is bottlenecking my 1080ti... else I'm gonna buy 2080ti. Haha

Lol same here. I want to see what sort of IPC improvement will Zen 3 bring to the table. I already got a SFFPC case in mind for the next build.

saw this offer in sabah shop, haha great for budget gamers now, since 3060 release is still far away, and if it was released it'll probably be near rm2k too.
*
These two cards are such a great price vs perf...
The 1660 Super need to be below RM1k to beat it.

Am looking for 2 slots 3080 to fit NR200... Other than FE, any other choice do I have?
*
QUOTE(Bonchi @ Sep 15 2020, 01:29 AM)
NR200 should be able to fit 3 slots... you might be interested with EVGA 3080 XC3 which will be 45mm thick. The only one that is almost 2 slot.
*
Also waiting see more details of new AIB card, and which one can be de-shroud and fit nicely inside small case cooled by 25mm case fans instead of their stock fans.

Finally see some insane numbers being push out by the RTX 3080, and that power draw too. Since I'm still pretty satisfied with playing Warzone and FS2020 with my 1080Ti, I'll wait for the release of future games which I wanted to play before I get the GPU.

I can't wait to see what RDNA2 will bring to the table.

Pcie gen3 vs gen4 on rtx3080, overall intel with pcie gen3 still slightly better than amd pcie gen4 for current games on FPS

https://youtu.be/xmhpPhm3P4k

Yep, Intel is still king of fps, especially in the 1080p department. That's why the new 360Hz IPS monitors are at that resolution.
At 1440p and 4k the difference is there but less noticeable in real life usage.

Wow that TUF got what it looks like the same heatsink the high end Strix. Can comfortably cool the RTX3080 at just 1600rpm fan speed!

Really makes me curious how will the Strix one look like and perform.

currently sitting inside is a zotac 2080 with a 1080 Strix cooler haha... So it's also very important to know how tall is the TUF... asus site says it's 13cm but not sure if it includes the TUF logo and no one mentions bout it either... if over then need to swap the fans to a slim fan or cut the TUF logo away.

Wow that's quite an epic mod. I'm also waiting to see what AIB 3080 can fit in my Ncase, and how's the temp like stock vs deshroud. I'm currently running Strix 1080 Ti deshroud.
