Thanks for the info on the top 4 for UCL. Back like 10 years ago, it used to be top 2 or 3 right for Italian teams at least? I remember England and Spain had more teams in the UCL somehow.

About the yellow kit, it actually makes us look sharper and stronger somehow. Always been a fan of their blue/yellow kit actually, even from the Kappa/Danone, Kappa/Sony Minidisc sponsor days, then during the Nike/Sky Sport days and now Jeep.

By the way, I just realised that what happened a night ago will be covered by Netflix in their second half of the documentary. It is going to be so heart-breaking to watch in documentary form  console.gif

netflix got a second part? Idk what hurt more as a Juventino. Juve out of UCL, or Buffon last chance to win that coveted trophy vanished altogether

idk if u had watched this video...created by one of Juve fan from Hungary iinm

About netflix, I think they do have a second part. Coz I remember they mentioned that they have released the first three episodes of their documentary. So I'm assuming there are more episodes?

Thanks for sharing the vid! Haven't watched it but will do so when I have a bit more time smile.gif

By the way, did you read what Del Piero had to say about how Buffon reacted against the ref? https://www.football-italia.net/119809/del-...-wrong%E2%80%99 It seems like he disagrees with Buffon and a lot of guys on Juventuz.com are giving him crap for it.

Edit: Just watched the video, brings back some good memories man! The feels indeed.

And Del Piero hits back at the critics:

https://www.football-italia.net/119927/del-...-against-buffon

Alessandro Del Piero hit out at Juventus fans who claimed he was “going against Gigi Buffon or even happy that Juve were eliminated.”

The club legend is now a television pundit following his retirement and commented on Wednesday’s 3-1 win away to Real Madrid, which saw the Bianconeri eliminated by a last-gasp penalty.

Buffon was sent off for dissent due to that decision and vented his fury at referee Michael Oliver, but Del Piero said he didn’t understand the criticism and this earned him abuse on social media.

“I respect all opinions of what I have heard and above all read over the last few days,” wrote Del Piero on his Twitter account this evening.

“But those who insinuated – maybe by only reporting part of what I said – that I am going against Gigi, in bad faith or even happy that Juve were eliminated, is hurting me.

“Such people aren’t worthy of attention. What is going on here?”

I sometimes think (some, not all of) the forumers on Juventuz.com jump the gun WAY too early

Hard luck guys, almost do miracle like roma, but still a very great effort from d team. I was only watching the highlight, to get a win in SB already a huge task, let alone almost turning the tide. Perhaps if push for 4th goal would be more better choice, instead of waiting for ET.

Just wanna ask from the actual point of view, is that really penalty?

from my POV

both King Alex & Gigi were right

Alex said as professional the comment by Buffon was inappropriate, indeed, it is inappropriate.

As for Buffon, his reaction was not so professional, but understandable, seeing that like us, he's a normal human being who just caught in the moment
due to all the tension in the match

i try to be as unbias as possible

my heart says its not a penalty, my brain said its a penalty

IMO its more like a 50/50 penalty. Some referee would've point at the spot, some would've waive it off

some of the reason Juve fans were furious bcoz of the treatment seems a little bias towards Madrid. Dybala dived one time and he got an instant yellow
which led to his red card later on. Cristiano dived and asking for penalty the entire match and he never got booked once.

So its understandable if some of Juve fans, even neutrals, were mad about that penalty, given at that moment, which spell the end of Juve in the match(and it did)

6 pts clear from Napoli. Let's keep pulling ourselves away from them.

Costa is simply the best signing from the last mercato. Fede a close 2nd, shame that he was injured.

Costa is simply illegal!

Juve had been missing the pure winger since the day of Camoranesi.

He(Costa) is fast, skillful, great with crosses & such. Definitely our best winger since Camo

Camp is a pure work horse, not the greatest with skill but his passion is 1 of the most admired. Still remember he chose to play for Italy despite having Argentinian passport

and not to mentioned he chose to stay with a sinking Juve ship back in 2006 when he's rumoured to moved to Stuttgart(of all teams)

as for national team, glad he made the right choice...atleast he had one world cup medal under his belt thumbup.gif

Hehe, I have no idea.

I guess they're just jelly.

On a more serious note, if I'm not wrong, it has to do with how well teams (regardless of league) did after group stages. So for example if there were lesser teams from a certain league after the group stages, then they would reduce the quota that qualify for the UCL the following season. I guess there was a period when Italian teams did not progress past group stages so UEFA or the 'powers that be' decided to reduce the quota. That's why in Serie A the race for the top two was like super tight because only two would qualify for a UCL spot.

Again, I could be wrong. But I kind of remember hearing that from one of the commentators a long time ago.

I think it was the same year that as always, Serie A proves the rest of Europe wrong when both Juve and Milan were up against each other in the final. And we all know how that turned out dry.gif

Dude, just imagine, Douglas Costa, a fit Bernadeschi and I dunno if they want Pjaca back, but the little that I saw of Pjaca...man he had so much talent and the potential to grow at Juve.

Some names I see being thrown around include Martial and now Griezmann. I don't know how that will affect Dybala and Higuain though. I hate to take sides honestly because Higuain has been so good in the league but somehow, he doesn't show up for UCL games. Dybala, he's still young and definitely has the room to be a legend with us, he just needs more time to gel with the team.

After the recent losses with Madrid, Bayern and Barca (jeez just those names alone and being mentioned alongside them says how far we've come since Calciopoli/Serie B times) I've come to realise that we need players who are clinical, players who can actually decide the game just by sheer will. Seriously, if we are up against the likes of Ronaldo/Messi and co. and that's just the Latin half, we have the Germanic half to worry about as well. Now we have PSG of France also being a threat and a potential contender for the quarter to finals stage of the UCL.

I'd like to see Allegri stay another year at least, Buffon too.

It's not bias, just how coefficient works. Serie A was on top of their game in the 90s and early 2000s but started declining beginning mid to late 2000s. Coefficient is calculated by performance of clubs in Europe by country of league. The further you progress, the more points you get, so having more clubs from the same country in the latter stages of CL and EL helps. At the time only the top 3 countries get 4 places in CL, Serie A used to be in top 3 but was eventually overtaken by Bundesliga.

its co-effiecient points used by UEFA. Italy got overtaken by Germany hence why only 3 teams from Serie A were allowed to enter UCL(previously 4)

but since 2011/12 Italy has been catching up & overtaken Germany, led by Juve performance(mostly) since they rejuvenated, pun intended

the new format next year, top 4 teams from top 4 leagues will enter UCL group stage automatically.

Higuain always did great against 2nd rated team in UCL, like his brace against Monaco last year, and against Sporting & Spurs this year. But he never scored
against Real & Barca whenever he played em. Mandzukic has a better goalscoring record against top clubs, even Dybala did net one goal against Bayern

Nicely done on the rejuvenated pun hahaha.

I didn't realise that we have Crotone on Wednesday which is then followed by Napoli over the weekend. Looks like we have a few tough fixtures before we can say we are in the safe zone. But judging by our performances against Milan, Benevento and Sampdoria - it looks like the boys really want to win a seventh in a row and the UCL exit has not dampened their spirits.

failing to win the UCL = meaning that failure to win both the Scudetto & Coppa can be considered an underachieving season due to current Juve standard

hopefully they'll rest the main team against Crotone but can't underestimate em either way. SPAL already taught us this after that drab 0-0 draw

and then in the weekend, go all out against Napoli and kill their title hopes altogether
