If coming from say, 70% charged, and if you go up hill or have some spirited acceleration, how fast does it drain? My wife has recently sold her current ride and although we have booked the V-spec, she wants the creature comforts of auto wiper, motorized tail gate and dual zone AC, so will swap to RS if the stock availability doesn't vary much. I guess if for long distance, we'd be driving the RS for its fuel efficiency.

difficult for me to say how fast the battery drains because (i) i never gauge it and (ii) i never take it for "spirited driving" but based on eyeball observation, the discharge rate is quite quickly when the car is going uphill but the rate in which it discharges is acceptable to me.

perhaps it is just me but i never intended for the battery to substitute my fuel consumption, i have been driving to charge up the battery so that i can use it during idling (eg: stopped at traffic light, crawling traffic, finding a parking spot or last-mile cruising in my taman from the guard house to my home etc.) and so far, i am liking how the system works.

frankly, this is quite an "addictive" system and despite only driving it on the weekends, i now feel "bad" for idling with the engine on in my Mazda.

this is my take on the variants, if you are a light-footed driver then you'll enjoy driving the RS but if you feel the need to put your foot down on the accelerator most of the time then the Turbo variant will be more suitable.

My take however, and seeing how the Civic hybrid is also positioned, even for heavy footers, the HRV hybrid is still a decent choice especially if it's mainly city driving, stop go etc.

The only weakness is past 60-80 kph where everything runs out of breath lol.
Anything below however, there's no denying that instant electric torque.

true that, the hybrid system in the HR-V RS is definitely not a highway cruiser.

hmm.gif

I remembered stumbling upon a car reviewer who claims that Honda engineers confirmed that they tuned the hybrid system in both the Civic and the HR-V differently - in a way that the Civic will inevitably drive more "eagerly". Will try to find that video and shared here.

Over stiff, on that wavy section roads

Put it this way, it's so badly done, my other sports coupe is even more comfortable than a family HRV 😂 laugh.gif

takes maybe less than 5 corners. it's totally not for spirited driving lol.
if long distance, highway, the turbo is probably more efficient

the the RS EHEV is though, is very efficient in traffic jams, stop go traffic, and you get instant EV torque with zero drawbacks of a fully spooled turbo emptying your fuel tank.

Lookie who we have here notworthy.gif

Just came back from showroom and booked the V-spec. Willing to take the last available 2023 unit even though going into 2024 already. Tested the RS first, then the V-spec immediately after. And for me, power is essential. Should be getting the car within the week. Love the RS black roof liner but that can be modded in time sweat.gif

Yea, the previous gen HRV is way too soft. Now, they decided to change it to overly stiff... But who knows maybe it need time to break in? haha

V spec can always modify to RS spec.. Just see if you have the time or not. Cost wise. It will definitely be cheaper.

Good choice V spec... Save the money for better tints

FC Report

HRV E Turbo, Drove 120-130km/h on highway about 450km and mixed city driving 110km. Used ECON all the way.

Total 560km with RM73 full refuel to the brim. Alot more efficient than my Axia XD

Felt sense of accomplishment managed to charge the battery indicator to 9 bars/90%, just one bar short but i think that's about as far as you can go unless you really really force it.

Also, Honda F1 endeavours didn't go to waste and is evident in their latest gen hybrid technology nod.gif
That's kinda how i did to force the battery to charge up btw laugh.gif

Guys,

My car started giving back that similar steering rack issue sound again lately. The steering rack and absorber mount was changed 3 years ago when it first happened at 5 years old age. But it came back last 2-3 months. So, this time it looked like the steering rack (including the rack end and ball-joint end) and the motor is still fine. We changed the steering column coupling but the "kruk kruk" sound is still there. The lower arm and it's bushing is also still fine. I'm running out of ideas where this sound is coming. Even the engine mount was replaced too (but this one confirmed damaged). Wanted to fix the car and sell it off the coming few months. Anyone came across something similar?
