Hrv weight is similar to civic. Maintenance and wear and tear should be similar. 1400kg

Dunno about new HRV turbo/hybrid

Old 1.8NA HRV only 12xx kg
Same goes to the current FE Civic smile.gif

It is very responsive on start stops and the drag race in Sepang against the X50 Echos the same.

6 months in and every thing seems acceptable. i noticed a small rattling on the left side B-pillar recently, i guess it's only normal given how much vibrations that car has to go through daily but other than that, nothing major.

eh you also owner hahaha, RS Hybrid or turbo?

Yeap, an owner of the RS Hybrid.

Oh God that Atkinson engine 😂

And the suspensions are so bad my recently rebuilt absorbers for my own car ended up way more comfortable (while still obviously having way more performance) than the HRV RS suspensions.

The only saving grace was the rather decent UHP UC6

hahaha... that engine is alright.

i used it 99% of the time to ferry my family/parents so basically light footed all the way. no complains from them so far so that's that and yes, i have to admit, the suspension is to my surprise stiffer than I expected it to be but still nowhere as strict as my Mazda.

wanted to actually go full EV but did not have courage yet so HRV is a good compromise and is well within my budget and i kinda got addicted to seeing how the battery indicator gets charged up/accumulating  wub.gif

It's weaker than an Otto cycle and coming from 1.8L HRV and 1.5T Civic, the 1.5L ICE is pretty lacking lugging over extra EV weight and the power tail boot and extra creature comforts and sound insulation (yes the car gotten fatter lol)

The previous gen HRV was notorious for being too soft/under damped, so the latest gen, not sure if it's only for the RS Hybrid with extra weight and slightly sportier portrayal (despite lol "road sailing"), is to solve that issue.

The compromise? With only being a basic linear damper without bypass valve for high speed compression/rebound (road pot holes/speed bumps etc), the car ended up
Wife generally have same sentiments not confident with EV, but as she managed to get really good family deal, so just seizing the opportunity to give hybrid another try (she owned the old CBU Jazz hybrid, where during engine stops the Aircon stops as well lol)

this one... looking at the green color lines flowing to the battery and the battery cells charges up is quite addictive  tongue.gif

if you planned it very very carefully then it can. i think i've seen it at about 70%-75% but that is also because I was going downhill (the downward stretch after the Puchong Selatan toll plaza) heading towards Cyberjaya/Putrajaya so when that happens, you feel like you are the green-iest person in the world biggrin.gif

If coming from say, 70% charged, and if you go up hill or have some spirited acceleration, how fast does it drain? My wife has recently sold her current ride and although we have booked the V-spec, she wants the creature comforts of auto wiper, motorized tail gate and dual zone AC, so will swap to RS if the stock availability doesn't vary much. I guess if for long distance, we'd be driving the RS for its fuel efficiency.
*
takes maybe less than 5 corners. it's totally not for spirited driving lol.
if long distance, highway, the turbo is probably more efficient

the the RS EHEV is though, is very efficient in traffic jams, stop go traffic, and you get instant EV torque with zero drawbacks of a fully spooled turbo emptying your fuel tank.

this is my take on the variants, if you are a light-footed driver then you'll enjoy driving the RS but if you feel the need to put your foot down on the accelerator most of the time then the Turbo variant will be more suitable.
*
My take however, and seeing how the Civic hybrid is also positioned, even for heavy footers, the HRV hybrid is still a decent choice especially if it's mainly city driving, stop go etc.

The only weakness is past 60-80 kph where everything runs out of breath lol.
Anything below however, there's no denying that instant electric torque.

Felt sense of accomplishment managed to charge the battery indicator to 9 bars/90%, just one bar short but i think that's about as far as you can go unless you really really force it.

Also, Honda F1 endeavours didn't go to waste and is evident in their latest gen hybrid technology nod.gif
That's kinda how i did to force the battery to charge up btw laugh.gif

1. what would be recommended?
2. Also does the eHev fuel consumption have any bid different from normal version??
3. the eHev is actually running on ICE or motor?
*
1) Depends on your budget

2) huge different if city travel is primary
But take note, there's no fuel savings. The premium pricing on the EHEV can buy many liters of fuel

3) EV motor primarily with the ICE as range extender/power assist

so means the eHev is mainly running on battery hence petrol is actually used to charge the batter? LOL
*
yes and no really.

the battery is small, so if the ICE need to constantly charge it, it won't be effecient anyways.
the key is how good the regenerative braking is in charging the battery.

but in very simple answer, yes, its main propulsion is EV, then ICE as supplementary and charging the batteries.

that's why on highways, it isn't that efficient as the roles has switched that EV is too weak to maintain higher speeds, and the 1.5 ICE isn't exactly high powered to maintain efficiency at higher speeds, so but lesser of evils, the ICE will switch being primary and run almost constantly all the time.

Hi all, i have a question. Is it normal for HRV make sound when push start to on/off engine? Sound like from mechanical part. Salesman told it is normal sound from electric parking brake.
Does all hrv make this sounds?

Thanks 🙏

Still driving the HRV? May I know if your HRV is the latest RV gen? Turbo or EHEV hybrid?
