as for the longer warranty period, it's a good sign to show that a brand is ready to back their products. it doesn't mean that consumers should take advantage of it.

The reason why warranty period is longer, because brand pressure the manufacturer. Warranty like switches will bear by Cherry etc.
It's true, if your switch so "lan" geng, then you provide better warranty to prove you are right.
If 1 board warranty because of 1 switch, definitely Cherry pay for the fraction of the board cost.
So, because certain brand that "guarantee" their product is good, we buy it. But, the manufacturer "guarantee" their QC and production is good, then brand use them, and supply chain and so on.
This just extra knowledge how thing works in mkb business and other businesses.
