ah ok, guess i'll just try my luck with taobao ones then. Thanks.

btw anyone tried outemu browns and gateron browns before? oh my, i feel like Outemu browns are VERY mushy (on tecware phantom TKL), really didn't expect that. guess I'll have to order up myself some switches as well from tb to hotswap these outemus.

yes taobao usually is the better place to look for these.

you should try lube them first. usually switch lubing will help improving typing experience significantly.

Actually, is anyone interested in tumpang-ing an order from originative co? i plan to order some mod-m switches but the shipping cost is 22usd and its not worth for just a pack of switches :/, if anyone would like to join this small "group buy" do pm and let me know. It would save alot of the shipping cost.  Thanks smile.gif

be careful though. tecware phantom tkl's pcb for outemu switches does not fit gateron or any other switches. They only fit outemu switches because the pins on gateron switches are too thick.

right, tecware phantom tkl is mainly compatible to outemu switches only. however we also have users who swapped internals (stems, springs) while reusing outemu housings for this board.

only newer tecware phantom elite supports most common switches from e.g. cherry, gateron, and kailh.

yes, try lubing the tactile way first. if it's not working well, especially for modifiers and space bar, modify and lube stabilizers also.

a note about plateless builds: imo it's really ok to build a plateless build based on dz60. the key ingredients are lubed 5-pin switches, good-quality pcb-mount screw-in stabilizers (like enjoypbt's), a thick pcb (dz60 pcb is thick and of good quality), and a good case (hefty aluminum). since it's a 60%, flex from pcb is not really noticeable. also, due to the lack of top plate, there is no ping from that part as well.

personally, in terms of pcb-mount screw-in stabilizers, i like enjoypbt more than gmk's. if you wanted to save up some costs, you can use enjoypbt screw in for space bar only.

I'm not sure about the stabilizers, but there's a guy selling his hhkb pro 2 on the Malaysia mechmarket FB group. You can check it out here

anything backlit, is good with dark room gaming.
even if it isnt backlit, u can still game good in a dark room if u have good muscle memory.

as for the quality of kibod itself,
that is another thing to look at.

I have two boxes with four plastic trays for keysets from 9009 kits to give away. I just received them yesterday from Wei.

Obviously self collect at PETRONAS Bukit Antarabangsa only. Non-nego on the location.

They are free, but a new, unused switch as a token would be nice.

No switch? No problem. It's free anyway.

PM away.

Hi guys, looking to buy a Akko Ducky One2 from Tmall/Taobao, does anyone have any experience with this product? Is this similar to Ducky? Price seems reasonable after conversion

it's a collaboration between akko and ducky in china. it's still a ducky board.

alternatively, you should check out varmilo's va87m base models, with side-printed black or white pbt caps.

Hi, this will be my first mechanical keyboard purchase.

Does the Tecware Phantom Elite come in TKL format?

Checking prices online, trying to decide what's the better value:
1. TKL Phantom - RM 169
2. Full Size Phantom Elite - RM 169 (board) + RM 75 (Gateron switches)

Do you think the Gateron switches are worth the cost? I've never tried a TKL format, willing to give it a shot.

Appreciate any feedback!

Thanks for the info and suggestion on the Varmilo. I took a look at the Varmilo VA108M (full size) it's RMB200 more than the Akko Ducky One2 (full size), do you think it's worth paying the additional RMB200 for the Varmilo?

I just need a mech keeb for typing/programming, not really into modding stuff and this will be my first board.

no, there is no news about tecware phantom elite yet

the price for gateron switches is ok. however, if you want, you can also find other options at taobao (e.g. for linear switches, there are gat yellow and black)

tkl is just a full-size minus keypad in general.

oh you're looking for full-size. i thought you're looking for tkl, which is like 599rmb for base models

personally i prefer varmilo to ducky because of varmilo's much better stabilizer optimizations for modifiers and space bar. no, it's not about modding, but for you to have a relatively better oem board.
