Pezzo in Tesco Taman Midah still doesn't accept Boost.

The problem with cashless payment (card) is due to the fact that BNM isn't strict in enforcing the law, until this day, you still get merchants that still dare to impose a minimum amount for card payments. Hence, there's not even a proper solution for the people to report a merchant that does something like this which is against the law.

You can report via their app, but you will need an evidence showing that the merchant does it, be it either a sign (merchants don't dare to do this cuz they themselves know that they're already doing something wrong) or transaction receipt (possible to do it but then they can't expect people to purposely pay more just to get the receipt as the evidence), and then you have to select which bank that the merchant is using etc., their current solution is plain rubbish and a waste of time, that's also why no one would bother to report.

That's why I feel that before e wallet can even replace our cash, the issues with card payments should be solved first. If the people aren't willing to pay with their cards (especially Paywave), the people won't be easily convinced in paying with e wallet, unless when everyone uses it, everyone will use it.

Main problem are mentality of the people, and the weak enforcement of the law for cashless payment.

The team probably were too excited until they salah tekan and added Grab into the list.

I would love to, but problem is I already opened a discussion thread for Wechat Pay and have to take the responsibility to manage it.

If I open another discussion thread for Boost, I will have to manage two discussion threads at the same time and it will be a mess for me when Wechat Pay launches here officially.

And there's no need to rush for a V2 yet cuz this thread still haven't even reached like more than 100 pages, I might open one for Boost but only if my Wechat Pay discussion thread is enough to make a V2 and I will have to ask someone from there to replace me as the TS in the V2 thread.

By the time if I can, I will PM u.

Sure, but nothing much to see so far, the latest progress for Wechat Pay is someone spotted one of the outlets of KK mart is starting to accept Wechat Pay, and also TnG app.

Maybe the ones in Sabah? Pezzo is quite well known in Sabah, and they're starting their aggressive expansion in Sabah as well.


Not that the staffs are lazy, there's no Boost sticker in the Pezzo outlet that I visited.

For sure this is Boost's fault for misleading, but don't be selfish lah please, just because there's no 50% cashback doesn't mean you can stop people from paying by Boost there.

Also, remember to see whether there's a 50% cashback sign at the counter or at least ask the cashier about it next time.

Try send the picture to Boost, since there's already a 50% at the counter, means you have the rights to ask for your cashback.

There's a new update though, not sure if it helps.

Update: After the new update, the app doesn't force you to enable GPS anymore.

But when there's a sign that shows they accept it but they don't want to, you should report to Boost or the merchant yo.

Personally I'm fine with the price, but problem is their food isn't good.

Gotta give props to that BigPay guy, seen him quite responsive and helpful in BigPay thread.

Although BigPay and Boost are different, Boost needs to learn and step up their game here.

It's likely that they will extend, or maybe they will come up with something better.

Their potentially biggest rival Wechat Pay is starting to expand, and first being KK mart, Boost gotta do something to make people stay.

For sure I will still prefer Boost though, cuz the Wechat Pay UI is unpolished and doesn't look good and lacks many features that suits the locals. Also, my hype for Wechat Pay is gone due to them keeping ppl waiting for so long. I'll still give them a try, but it won't make me prefer it over Boost.

That's why they have to either extend the cashback promotion or come up with something more attractive until they can really bake into our daily lifestyles. Being established locally, they should know the mindset of many people here, those people will only do something (whether it's new or beneficial) if they can get something in return, also can be called cheapskates. I can also guarantee that if for example, supermarkets come up with an idea of bringing your own bag and customers who do that will get something in return, you will see many bring their own bags instead.

Not that I'm stopping people from doing what they're doing, but sometimes I'm also sick of seeing those kind of mindset. But hey, it doesn't hurt to be the different one than the others right? Others think cash is king, we keep following the modern way lah, no worries.

Now that you mentioned, they're probably gonna add it to their website after the staff sees your comment lol.

Another thing is report it to the merchant or Boost, let them know the issue. If the whole payment process isn't convenient, don't expect more ppl to join and stick with Boost.

Lol that's now how e wallet works, it's a known fact that such method would require you should show the transaction success page to the cashier after you made the payment.
