I just called UOB customer service. She told me starting 1 June i have to spend RM800. And my statement on 15-June, i must already spend RM800. I tried to argue with her by saying is it 15-July statement, she maintained its 15-June, I asked her to check again and call me back.

Had anyone clarify with other UOB telebanker too?
*
if i am you, i'd already spent 800 starting this month (statement in June).

1 month earlier, wont kill you la

i wouldn't be surprised if the customer service gave incorrect information
last time was told by the customer service that ineligible to apply for both classic and platinum one card and it turned out to be incorrect

since there is a black & white, could always dispute later
now they might 'rectify' it

So u called for cancellation ?

Until now i still haven't received call from UOB on my Simple Card Cancellation, lol ..

The card disappear on the day i called (they said temp disable) on 16th May 2025 Evening time and say will received call from retention team roughly 3 working days.
Today probably the last day.
*
So retention team called and counter offer me RM25 rebate to keep the card.
I told her i have another 3 cards (Nov, Feb, April) can tumpang or not, she checks and says ok rclxm9.gif

Then asked her any BT 0% , offer me 12m 0% thumbup.gif

Keep another year for this card, dunno why they die die dun wan cut cause this card (UOB Simple) is zero usage for me

question to self, is it hard to spend another rm300?

if yes, then take the risk lor

if no, then why not?

even if you're lucky this month no need 800, eventually the following months will still need to hit 800. one way or another, at most you just enjoy 1 cycle difference.

hi, do you guys think is it better to apply the credit card via ringgitplus/comparehero or directly from uob website? if i apply via ringgitplus/comparehero, i just worried that the information we provided to them will be leaked. but the signup offer by them is quite attractive.

i always sign up using ringgitplus since few years already. recently just apply for uob.
quite fast
1 day ringgitplus verification
1 day uob verification
2 days later- card approved,
1 day - card showed on app.
now wait for them to deliver to bank so i can collect

You can pay for credit card from any bank's savings account. You should only open UOB savings account if you need it for something (for e.g. UOB One is pretty good as a high-interest rate savings account if you have >100k cash).

Finally got charge for annual fee RM120 for UOB One Classic since the Citi migration.

Just called for waiver and need to wait first maybe for few days for reversal.

I look at the TnC, looks like starting Jan 2026 they want us to use RM15k p.a in order to waive AF.

I think by then maybe need to think whether to keep the card or not since cashback requirements just changed earlier this month. 🥶🥶

didn't notice they added the minimum spending for subsequent waiver
but from past experiences, annual fee waiver was relatively lenient
retention team might also come up with 3-year annual fee waiver counter offer
well, we shall see if that ceases
