Got my maple wood toast skin few days back. Sorry for the late upload. I was too lazy to take out my s6 to take pictures, haha. Here are my findings on this skin.

Pros:
- fairly easy to install, it has a fair amount of room of error for installation. Took me 20 minutes to complete and it seems the installation was far more forgiving than installing screen protector from my experience.
- great for people who really love wood look skin cause its a real piece of wood.
- gives off real wood smell.
- not as thin as I expect (I don't want it to be too thin), so it might provide a little amount of protection. But I don't think the phone will survive drops 3 feet and above though with the skin. The skin thickness might be around plus minus 1mm-1.5mm I think.
- slightly noticeable rougher sense of touch, provides better grip than the original casing that comes with the phone.
- it's compatible with some screen protectors iinm, which I don't really know and bother since I'm not using one.

Cons:
- Very minimal protection.
- The seams are the dust collectors, but it's not irritating tbh.
- jilaka mahal. No free shipping. The cheapest was USPS shipping with no tracking and that costs around 5usd maybe? The next cheapest option was FEDEX with tracking and it costs me nearly 30usd.
- Be prepared to be taxed by customs if you're planning to get one with custom design like me.

Overall I'm really happy with the skin, despite all the cons mentioned above.

Looks really good there Bro. Although it might not be my cup of tea after reading your review about the cons but it is definitely still pleasing like eye candy.
*
Thanks biggrin.gif. I believe the skin is not for 99% of phone users. Especially when it comes to protection and pricing.

thumbup.gif Deng lawa laa  thumbup.gif plus the Khat some more  may i know wat kinda quick-connect charging you're using  shocking.gif
*
Thanks biggrin.gif. Its TOPK 2.4A Magnetic charging cable that I bought from aliexpress. Doesn't support fast charging and data transfer. Takes about 2 hours and 5 minutes for a full charge.

QUOTE(h4fizul2018 @ Mar 31 2018, 05:18 PM)
Magnetic charger.. like that support data?
*
Nope, not even fast charging.

Finally!!! Looks good. How do you get them to do the khat? How do they know your preferred size?
Wet hand is gonna be problematic, no? Postage structure a bit like dbrand, except with dbrand can get free shipping if buying more than 20usd.
*
Thanks bro! biggrin.gif Draw the khat and send the picture to them (I used an app from playstore to do this). In description I just described the size by including the bottom border of camera module and the bottom edge of the phone as reference. Later they will email you a rendering before finalising it. Its a very straightforward process.

Well about the wet hand im not sure myself, but I can only tell that the skin doesn't impose any issue with water though (for now).

Regarding postage structure, dbrand is whole lot better. No free delivery with toast and this is the first time of my life paying more than RM100 just for a ridiculously light and small item for delivery lol.

This place call BBQ Lamb, in Kampung Kemensah very near to zoo negara, yup this place serves food on the middle of the stream.
A bit pricy but their food is not bad, reservation needed if you don't want to wait, that day I walk in wait 1 hours plus, but my kids are enjoying the water while waiting for our table so no complain la... smile.gif

How long was it between ordering, emailing about the khat and shipping? Then shipping how long? Is it compulsory to buy everything or we can select certain portions like back & side only?
*
Back & side is one item, and the camera inlay is the other item. So both of these are the basic package (34usd). Khat, which is additional custom design costs *cough* 30usd. Here's the chronology from ordering until I received the product.

guys

just wondering

if i use a custom DPI changed in developer settings

can i update the phone normally without the update trying to detect if my DPI has changed then make it a failed update or something?
*
dirty flash custom ROM on my phone didnt affect anything and DPI remains at 440.

my nillkin cases

not sure which one i like using more laugh.gif
Frosted shield:
- rubbery feel when holding (more grip)
- very plain

Nillkin Air:
- Not slippery but less grip due to plastic back
- unique looks as it reflects the inner black glass of the note 8 when shine directly under light drool.gif
but anyway, i believe these 2 cases will be the last ones for me. LOL (hopefully)

1. Frosted Shield

[attachmentid=9705037]

[attachmentid=9705040]
2. Air

[attachmentid=9705027]

[attachmentid=9705032]

*
Niiiccee... I prefer air a lot more than the other one. Actually it was on my list few months back.

ya im using Air right now

haha

it does make the back look different than a plain case

but what are you saying!! you're using a skin now laugh.gif
*
Ya, the skin really stopped me lol. I really like the idea that the holes leave some gaps and distance between the users hands and the phone, which somewhat may prevent heats from accumulating. But I didn't expect about the dust though as to what others said.

Anyway, it's a nice skin, the holes do give extinguished look to the phone. I can tell immediately cause I think nillkin air is the only casing that looks like that although that might not be the case.

Hahaha. I'm eager to see how far I'll go myself. Have you updated? How is it?
Do share how it is. Maybe I'll update tomorrow if not much complains. But tomorrow still too early to see how it affects battery life. Lol.
*
Ya I have updated to Oreo few days back. using Korean note 8. Nothing much to tell except I like how the custom font applied is wider throughout the system, and some apps work pretty well at higher dpi unlike in nougat.

oreo cannot use custom fonts anymore!! sad.gif

need to use ADB if wanna do, was trying to keep it as "out of the box" as possible with simple APK installation like how it was on Nougat

i guess, have to use stock fonts..lol

i take it back

so easy only

just install the APK as usual (must make sure SamsungSans is installed from Galaxy Apps store)

then just enable usb debugging, copy paste a line, enter (follow instructions)

now custom fonts are enabled again WITHOUT root
*
Thank goodness it still works biggrin.gif.

Haha but i wonder

How long will the skin start to degrade or have scratches here and there laugh.gif

You guys bought from dbrand?

mfa682 so far this brushed steel design have very grippy feel nod.gif

Dragon skin more grip but not a fan of the design haha

Carbon fiber surprisingly feels very weird on a skin (but its just my preference. Don't kill me if one of you are using carbon fiber haha)
*
Mine so far so good, even the wood smell still retains. Glad it gives that grippy feel.
