Can also call up any MI Malaysia service center & ask to check IMEI # . When bring set to service center for repair etc they also check ur IMEI # see if it's parallel import or not

I'm shopping for an RN5 Ai on shopee. Can someone confirm what kind of ROM is installed on MI Malaysia's RN5 phones?

I found a seller the says "Original Malaysia Set" & "Local Manufacturer Warranty" ... but one of the buyer comments say installed with Global ROM. Couldn't contact seller unfortunately

To correctly test unifi turbo, you need to use laptop or desktop that has NIC card support 1 Gbps. Connect with CAT 5e or 6 cable, then you will know whether you are getting the turbo speed. Also, your router must be able to support too. I doubt the standard TM router can consistently support the new speed. 3rd party MIMO routers can.

You cannot get the the unifi turbo tested correctly with your phone. Unless your phone has 2x2 MIMO wifi.

"Original Malaysia Set" & "Local Manufacturer Warranty" - authorised local set with Mi Malaysia warranty, installed with Global ROM

"Original Import Set" installed with Global ROM - warranty by seller only, not Mi Malaysia.

I think warranty is the key difference here since imported set are now installed with Global ROM too.

Good News & Bad News

The RM569 RN5 3/32 that I bought from Lazada yesterday was just delivered!!! Super happy

First thing I did was to call MIservice center to check the IMEI.

Good news again. IMEI checks out - orig MI M'sia set

BAD news

The girl told me the warranty is up till end sept 2019 . I asked her 2 more times . Still end Sept 2019

So I was thinking wtf! I bought direct from Xiaomi flagship store. Not some reseller, right?

Then I look at the box - got EIN sticker - authorised distributor ... another WTF LOL

Another thing... last time I bot my RN2 , there was an invoice in the package show seller name , S/N & iirc IMEI of the phone. This time nothing at all. 3rd WTF

So guys, what do you think I should do? 1.5 months less warranty & I dun hv any invoice to prove I bought from Xiaomi flagship store yesterday

If bought from lazmall, they will email the invoice after 1-2 days delivered.

I don't think it has started selling in Lazada yet. I googled and it seems that only global version is available at the moment.

Strange. Warranty suppose to start when first boot up.

Have lah ! Check in Lazmall section. Use google for what ? Straight to Lazada or Shopee lah !
