Did you build dashboard using BI tools or implement predictive model using R or python ? I have a friend right now gotten 3.9k for fresh grad with similar job scope as yours but with added BI tools and predictive modelling.
*
BI is very much sought after these days, especially when businesses start shifting to digital and rely on market data heavily.

My job role is BI as well and yes I can confirm that it’s on the hype train right now

Do you need strong technical background to do this job? I am more towards the functional side and I am wondering if I can make the switch.

Should be UOB as OCBC will not give 16% EPF off the bat, plus OCBC have a 13th month salary.
*
Wow 13th month? This is actually the first time I'm hearing about OCBC giving 13th month salary.

Ya 'S'. You used to work there?? . Its permanent job & probation duration is 6 months. I thought after 6 month I will receive Al. But have to wait 1 year. After cukup2 1 year I get 8 days Only. 3rd only I get 12 days & cannot accumulate.

The most annoying is 3 months resign notice.
*
3 months notice period is normal nowadays. Mine is like that too. It is annoying when it comes to job hunting when recruiters just turns you down when they hear about that.

Currently i am stuck with my work due to i am the focal person that only can manage this task. I feel i am underpaid for my age. I consider myself in the comfort zone because already handle it for many years. totally no life, sometime standby for support.

But have high commitment house, car, rent a place to stay in selangor not yet married. Should i jump or stay? Few years already thinking to jump but manage to stay until today..

Commitment will only grow larger as you grow older. Just imagine once you have a family, it will be even harder for you to change jobs. Just start looking out now.

Just be comfortable with the first figure that you give. Be mindful that their final offer will usually be equal or lower than your expected.

It's always possible given that you have the upper hand. Maybe the position needs to be urgently filled? Maybe you are a good fit to the position? These factors can affect the salary they decide to offer.

Back to the years in uni, hearing someone earning five figure by 30 seems like a mission impossible. Turning 27 this year and currently not too distant away from five figure, although still a far cry from some here who's earning amount most Malaysian could only dream of. Still, I'm pretty grateful of my achievements thus far.

Currently bearing loads of work responsibility on my shoulder though.

Hi @Belphegor thanks for the info! I have ptptn to be paid and if there's an offer for me in KL imma gonna rely on public transit. Not insured as well.

Do you think asking for 4k is too high for this industry? I dont think I cam survive with anything less (unless any sifu can teach me how)
*
If you are a fresh graduate and this is your first job, I think the max you can get is around 3.5k in banking sector. You can always ask for more, no harm trying.

Bear in mind the average salary in banks are lower in general, but their benefits and bonuses are usually good.

I see, would asking for more makes HR ignore my application?
*
I've heard from my friend who is working as HR they will filter out those with good resumes first (they will look at cgpa and school for fresh graduate hires), then look at salary demand.

But of course every HR works in a different way. It will be better if you can find out how much is the average pay for a fresh graduate in the bank that you are applying to, and work from there.

Glassdoor is a nice place to start!
