got, but from company perspective, paying 10 months just to buy him out doesn't seem correct.

buying 2 months are common.

I'll rather they ask about past salary as a benchmark for next salary, otherwise what do you suggest?  I've no idea how it works at other countries though.
*
Let's say ur current is 4k.

When u apply for the job u see in jobstreet, you put your expected salary.

U saw a job that says min 4.5k to 7k range.

U will hope to get your expected or as much as u can?

Can't seems to find my previous post, but here's my little update. Had just change job recently. Previously work in the marketing field as junior marketing exec and the basic was RM3,850. Took a little jump and career change into partnership role.

Job Title: Senior Associate - Partnership
Job Desciption: Everything about the partnership
Age: 25
Years spent in company: Just started on 1st August
Company: P&C
Industry: Financial Industry
Tenure : Permanent
Employment Level : Senior
Experience before joining (years) : 2.9 years
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Degree
Location : Klang Valley
Average Working Hours Per Week (incl lunch hours): Basically 9-6pm x 5 days = 45 hrs

Monetary Payout
Basic Salary + Fixed Allowance : RM4,800 + RM580. Possible to get more after the probation period.
Contractual Bonus (months): -
Performance, Variable Bonus & Commissions (months) : 1-2 month if not mistaken. Don't know yet as this is a new position.

Benefits (where relevant) :
Health Benefits : Clinic (RM700 per year), Hospitalization (RM60,000 per year), Personal accident and term life covered (Not sure about the amount)
Transport Benefits : Provided inside fixed allowance. But no need to pay parking as can park the car at the roadside
Mobile / Internet / Gadget Benefits : Provided inside fixed allowance. Company just provide me a new working laptop.
Flexi Working Hours : Will have after I build the trust with the boss.
Other Benefits : Dental (RM200), Company parking (RM50) if I want to take it.

Just joined this company on 1st August. The management created a new position for me because they want to take me in. It's only 2 days working in this company and I felt this company is fast-paced which is OK for me cause I get used to it. Previous company slowly changing become Chinaman and when competitor offer me a role.. So why not? When I tender my resignation that time, my previous company did counter-offer me. But I stick with my decision as I need to move out from my comfort zone and took a career change  smile.gif Felt like the new management has high expectation on me for deliver, but I am confident!! bruce.gif  Hope I will perform well in this job!

But what makes me really took a jump and career change in this new company is that, they wanted to take me in and offering me a different role that suits me. Perhaps I am an extrovert and love talking to people, hence they offer me partnership role. Location wise is 20KM from my house, which is nearer. Previously was 40++KM one way which I spent daily 2 hours on road.

All in all, good luck

Hi all,

No jokes and seriously I need your advice on this as I really have no 1 to turn to as of now.

Just gotten a job in a shared service under billing (earning $9.3k) as Team Lead at the age of 31.

All in all, i really feel that my earning is just average and I am losing passion in what I am doing. Monday to me is really dreadful and I know that such feeling is very unhealthy and toxic and I will not perform in what I am doing currently.

After changing job here n there and very much thinking into it, I seriously believe that I do like going out and meeting ppl and since I have been exposed to quite a number of field (ie tech, FMCG, automotive, and Engineering). Maybe due to the nature of my earlier job which enable me to go customer's site and a great work life balance.

Honestly, I am seriously considering to be a recruiter. I do feel happy if I am able to get jobs for ppl and in the meantime earning a decent salary with commission based. My only concern is that I might be too old being a recruiter from fresh and might lose all the experiences I have in shared service.

Could you all please share with me if being a recruiter is sth that can match my current salary and all other valuable inputs will be greatly appreciated.
*
Why recruiter? Must have other reasons than stated.

I think u can try business sales? Sales department. Can also meet people, commission based.

Your salary, I think will be hard to match for recruiter

I'm already being pressured by my family to get a more profitable job/career considering my parents age but I felt like my experience is not justifiable to do so in such a short term. There were a few opportunities I spotted while browsing but I don't know anymore. Should I stay for a while or prepare to advance and move on to greener pasture?
*
question, why they pressure u? so u need to earn more to support them? u have siblings? not too well to do family that need u to support?

If I'm not always so uncertain of my decisions, perhaps sad.gif
My father wanted to retire in another 5 years or so and move someplace else to enjoy the remainder of his life (same for my mother as well), I got 2 siblings one of which is still studying for diploma (or degree idk), the other while graduated from automotive college, currently works with my father and isn't really capable of continuing the business (he's physically weak to do so either way).

So I'm planning to progress my career and improve my finance to be able to bear the future commitments and afford my own lifestyle, or live on my own if it ever comes to that , that is.

in 5 years time? how much do u want to give them once they retire? 5 years can jump very high if u know how

That's also what I'm questioning myself as well. They told us not to worry too much as they have some savings left behind for it but I know for certain it won't be enough. I'm guessing somewhere around 5k a month or something idk?

Anyway I'll see what comes around by the time I'm fully one year in and if there happens to be any changes to my salary. Else I may have to start looking elsewhere.

talk to your siblings. see how to plan them.

or even go to sg, that should accelerate your savings
