Actuarial side they get very, very good increments for each paper completed. The more advanced the higher the increment. I believe it can be as much as RM8k for a full qualified actuary in terms of increments. Add to that regular promotions (3 in 8 years) and the figure is pretty achievable. The studying however is not easy, nor are the stress levels. Basically you get paid extra for more papers completed.

Do you know how much paper increment will be paid to a fresh grad who has completed 13 out of the 15 exams through exemptions?

Although my career is not the best among the member here, I will still post my employment history with salary for those who wish to start their career in Singapore especially as IT professional.

Company A (Software QA - Oil And Gas Industry)
24 yo, Apr 2014, SGD2500 (Contract)
24 yo, Jun 2014, SGD2700 (Convert to permanent, 13th bonus + variable bonus)
25 yo, Jan 2015, SGD2980 (Increment + Management Remove 13th bonus - Due to bad oil price)
27 yo, Nov 2017, SGD2980 (Finally resigned because no salary increment, bonus and career progression in 2016 & 2017)

Company B (Software QA - IT service Industry)
27 yo, Dec 2017, SGD3400 (Permanent, 13th bonus + variable bonus)
28 yo, Apr 2018, SGD3600 (Passed Probation)
28 yo, Jun 2018, SGD4500 (Got other job offer, but company counter offer)
29 yo, Feb 2019, SGD4500 (Resigned)

Company C (Software QA - Gaming Industry)
29yo, Mar 2019, SGD5300 (Contract, no bonus)
30yo, Mar 2020, SGD5300 (Resigned)

Company D (Software QA - Automotive Industry)
30yo, Apr 2020, SGD7000 + 800 (Contract, variable bonus + monthly allowance SGD800)

From my experience in Singapore, jump ship is the best way to increase salary.
For those who want to come Singapore, remember open a Linkedin account, most of the recruiter search candidates from Linkedin. If you are IT professional, especially related to software development (Software engineer, QA, architect, Devops, Tech Consultant)

how to get into actuary  ?
Im engineering background .

only started hearing insurance/bank actuary after working.
*
I think can start taking SOA preliminary exam first to get the actuarial knowledge.
But personally think no worth to switch after working in another industry, the opportunity cost too high and fresh grad supply is oversaturated...you could have spent the time doing other productive works instead of studying for exam which does not guarantee a job.

Yes, IFOA. Is 5k the total salary (including basic salary) or the increment for the papers passed?

Including total salary. Sound rugi because you didn't get the full increment, but I think your annual increment will be higher than others to make up for the gap.
