I need some advice from all sifu here. I changed my jobs on Jan 18, I don't really like the environment in the new company. I plan to have a move soon. But I am in dilemma on the salary. Should I put my expectation salary 20% more from current salary or stay with my current salary for my jobs hunting? If I change my job now, it is will give a bad impression to the interviewer? I only work for 4 month only, but I have 5 year working experience before I joined this company

You can't guarantee that if u jump company again, the environment would be any better, right?

What will you answer if your interviewer ask "why jump company after only working for 4 months?"

agree be prepared wit all these questions first..
unless u really dun like the culture or the system of the company tat makes u wanan leave soo badly
then u can point them out to ur new employer..

else, in terms of salary wise, u oni worked for 4mths n u wanna put ur salary higher already? tat's a risk to not getting anything instead..

2 cents here~

Your salary is quite standard for 1.5y exp engineer. You can definitely jump ship after earned 2-3 years of exp and earn like 5k. It depends on your expertise and skills as well, is your current job more to technical or management? Is it specialize technical job? If not specialize maybe difficult to get high pay because many competition in the market, just my 2 cent.
*
I would say it's 80% technical and 20% management (procurement, schedule coordination). Right now, I am still dealing with general technical job for that is typical for a mechanical design engineer. Planning to get into one or two specialized skills and jump ship already. It's just that there's not that much opportunities to grow for design engineer in Malaysia.

I think the only reason acceptable to anyone for u to quit a company you have been working only 4 month are if u discovered that the company are doing something illegal and against your core principles. Other than that, itll only look bad on you, might shows that u are weak, not loyal, complainers etc. and 4 month is hardly enough to demand a pay rise as well, unless u didnt get any pay rise when u joined your current company from prevous job

What's a reasonable salary for fresh degree graduate for audit associate working in big 4 and the rest these days? Is 2.3k really that low? Mid-tier firm. Not too tiny.

I've heard from my friend that fresh grads in KPMG are getting about 2.85k
*
yes B4 is about 2.8-3.0 nowaday.
even mid tier like BDO is about same range.

Your friend is in BIG4?

So far personally I've heard 2.8k is the lowest for a fresh graduate since 5 years back. And some got 3-3.3k, not sure if it has to do with institution or CGPA.
