David Beckham. From then on it was "learn about the club (Becks' club at that time, Man United, of course) bit by bit while supporting them" which eventually made me an all-out fan of United. Bukan atas pagar one aah. hehe.

Eric The King Cantona for Manchester United

As for International, I fell in love the way Rivaldo, Denilson, Cafu, Roberto Carlos and not to forget the once best Ronaldo play.

Due to Rivaldo and Ronaldo playing for Barcelona, I've been supporting Barcelona ever since.

As for Serie A, there's no beating Juve with the class of Del Piero (still livinh up to his name), and Zidane.

I think it's either runs in the family or you start supporting a club from a certain player which then develop into a club/country thing. You can't just go like, "hmm..this club is doing well..frm now on I'm a supporter of this club".

Well I think some Chelsea supporters came out of nowhere when the Roman's money started rolling in. No offense to the true Blues who have been supporting them since the years of Zola, Desailly, Ruud Gullit, Sparky and Hasselbaink. As a matter of fact, I used to love watching the likes of Zola, Tore Andre Flo, and Hasselbaink terrorizing defences..

Our current financial success came from the global command of merchandise that these players, who cost nothing, made. Not from a certain oil tycoon or some rich syeikh whistling.gif whistling.gif

Right... so his statement that you spent nothing on players hold water yes? It doesn't matter where the money came from, fact is that money was spent. Reminds me of how people interpret Nostradamus' predictions to suit their themselves. hmm.gif

If you compare the amount of money spent, you will realise Man Utd spend so much lesser than Chelsea, Liverpool and all other premier league teams...

So you did spend money right? The argument here is that someone claimed you spent nothing so let's not sidetrack. It doesn't matter if you spent or not to win titles, all teams do, but for someone to claim that you spent nothing is a little over the top.

That being said, where is the proof that you've spent less than us over the past decade or so? I will realise this when you have some evidence to back up your claim. As Paul Tomkins mentions, many fans fail to take into consideration how much clubs recoup from sale of players. It's not just about outflow, it's about cash coming in as well.

You've spent less than all other Premier League teams? Yes I can see how Hull, Wigan, West Brom, Everton, Stoke, Bolton, West Ham, Blackburn, Fulham, Middlesborough, and Newcastle all broke their piggy banks last summer (http://soccerlens.com/premier-league-transfers-summer-2008/7653/). In our case, we may have splurged $20 million on Robbie Keane but we sold Crouch for $11 million, Riise for $4 million and Scott Carson for $3 million. Do the math.

Like I said there is nothing wrong in spending money if you have it, what more if you've earned it and it wasn't inherited so what is the big deal? I'm merely suggesting that to claim you didn't spend any money is ludicrous, not that spending money is wrong.

hai,i'm new here.just wanna add.i support manchester united since 1994 cos they were ruling the premier league then.also got to know all the player from that time like pallister, bruce, mcclair, ince, schemeicel, cantona, etc.also i got the privilege to stay in the UK cos my parents sambung study.budaya sukan sana memang kuat.even though i stayed in coventry,i still support MU,but i also have a soft spot for coventry city fc.when i got back, local football was a time low.but i remember when johor won the fa cup over sabah.i was overjoyed.also when kelantan went on an amazing run in the malaysia cup.the stadium were not really full but when kelantan won the secondary league,it was full to the max.loved it.as for selangor, where i stayed,it was memorable to see stadium nearly full when we won the treble.all the local teams i stated, are the local teams dat i supported.it is cos i'm half kelantanes, half johorean and i live in selangor.hehe.hope one day i can take over FAM and run the league and national team as profesional and win the heart of all malaysians again with the beautiful football.. smile.gif

Dude, it's the same for me although i was watching it at my friend house ( my first time ever) with his whole family. It was the game where manchester united where trailing 3-0 in halftime but made a comeback and won 5-3 in the end. Beckham score a fantastic goal in that game. Can't remember whose the opponent anymore. Anyone know? It was 2002.

i luv seeing beautiful games.. so always watch arsenal, man u, barca. sometimes i watch interesting teams from serie a, la liga and bundesliga.

i support?? arsenal. reasons?

1) when wenger came, arsenal's football simply breathtaking with the likes of henry, bergkamp and pires showing their prowess creatively. i like vieira long-leg's tackling oso.. right now they dont play as brilliant as the invincible, but hey, i believe in wenger. hehe.

2) they always buy cheap player, and then most of them turn out to be so good! kolo toure only costed gbp250,000. anelka only 500,000 (before sold him to real for 20++ million). rvp only 2++ million. vieira? 3.5 million.. fabregas? free. clichy.. pires.. ljungberg..yeah we got cygan or someone like that but the good finds outnumbered the bad ones. i think wenger is a real genius in that particular area. hehehe.

i dun really care bout silverware as long as the game is good to watch... and in CL every year..

certainly man u got good chance this year.. but there's still time for changes..
