Hi guys.. i am a sales engineer and i am 23 now only earning 2k per moth... I find it hard to hit 5k by the age of 28 because i dont have any commision for the sales that i secure, i am only being paid by a fix basic salary every month.
In addition, not all sales ppl can do a good job. After working for sometime in sales line, i would says that if you find tat it is hard for you to have a chat with a stranger you can forget about joining sales line, because not only you wont reach 5k by 28 you will find it hard to hit the basic target set by your company. Correct me if i am wrong... cuz i am still quite fresh in this line. tqtq ----------------------------------------------------- By the way... i need some advise here Recently my friend working in an small oil and gas company invited me to go over to his company but the starting pay was just slightly higher than my current salary and it is contract base offer. Not sure to jump over onot..... aiksss...headache. anyone out there that can give me some advise? really appriciate that if someone can help me out here.... TqTq.... thats all for now....have a nice day |

most of the people say doing sales, increase company's revenue..
technical stuff like engineers really dont earn much, do they? with this that i think most important is the ability to speak, meet new people and able to represent the company to convince people to seal a deal.. thus coming to the end also still... sales.... |

@dazzywazzy,
If you remain a graphic designer and only a graphic designer, it'll be difficult to achieve the RM5k mark. You need to keep bettering urself and learn more about the industry. Move from graphic designer to an Art Director and from there, a Creative Director. The bigger the role you play in your organisation, the more valuable you are and the more valuable you are to the organisation, the higher your salary will be. This goes for all, not just those in the designing community. I'm quite sure big time Creative Directors like *thinks for a bit* Lee Clow, Mike Schallit, Erik Vervroegen, Tony Davidson, etc etc started from right below that ladder and made their way to where they are today. Good Luck! |

To do sales and earn RM5k salary is not a big deal I guess, but to maintain the monthly RM5k and above salary would be the tough part to a lot.

Just like a top student, 80 marks is a low marks to them Good luck in ur career I have to always remind myself that I am poor to try to earn more Not all jobs allow such. That is why I choose sales Few years back when I was just a programmer age 24 earning RM4k/month. That's it. Cannot earn more cause tied to desk. Income power is limited. So I choose to move out even though my interest is in programming It's a question of Money vs Interest, and I choose the evil one... Money |

I'm signing my colleague's timesheet. He's about 30, single and he makes RM4000-5000 per week. |
