>>>
1)download and flash the modified version of original tenda firmware that allow to direct flash merlin : ac18_kf_V15.03.3.7 from the link above..Then u are good to flash any Merlin based firmware without needing the hassle recovery mode method..
>>>

use this method to flash through the web gui right?

Yes correct. please note only flash 380.70 merlin firmware only, do not flash 384 and above pls as it will brick your router.

Feel like venturing into Merlin on AC18.
So, steps:
1. Download ac18_kf_V15.03.3.7(4031)cn.bin from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P66G2SS9qc...iew?usp=sharing by prokiller1199
2. Download Asus WRT Merlin 380.70 from https://netix.dl.sourceforge.net/project/as...0_0.zip?viasf=1
3. Flash from current firmware V15.03.3.11_multi to firmware from (1) via web GUI.
4. Flash ASUS WRT 380.70 from (2).
5. Access new ASUS GUI via 192.168.1.1 and setup unifi as usual.

Could the sifus confirm the above step before I flash the router? Ministry of Finance gonna be pissed if router doesn't work sad.gif

Does anyone know how to fix bricked tenda ac18.

I was given ( 2 ) AC18 units, one is running HHG Final 380.70 and is working good
The second unit was bricked using merlin 384. firmware, and also had nvram erased

I cannot get in to CFE,
I do have a prolific pl2303
and also have AC18 Full factory dump file
http://www.mediafire.com/file/65v8xyfoxa1a...2BDUMP.zip/file

Is there anyway to get the second unit back up and running, any links I can follow

Thanks for any help

There is, but i dont remember where liao... Things ah when u dont need it very easy find, when you need it super hard to find. If not wrong can find in 4pda forum AC18 thread. Some china sites also have.
As I say in the AC18 thread here, if want upgrade to 384. have to modified the CFE first.

Ok done. Unifi profile setup and running. But got icon flash on the GUI says low NVRAM?
Do I need to do anything else for that?

go to cfe mode by pressing reset button before power up router, must set static ip 192.168.0.XXX gateway 192.168.0.1. Inside there will have a option to clear nvram
or u can try doing a factory reset on router interface tick the checkbox.

Yeah working fine now. The signal isn't as strong as Tenda's firmware though, but I expected that smile.gif
