Hi,

I am here to ask advice about how to port out of Maxis. So to clear things up, I do not have contract with whatever Maxis plan and I have settled the latest bill.

However I still keep on being rejected when I request to port out to other service provider. I was informed that I never reply the "YES" to the SMS sent by Maxis. I checked and checked and even waited for their message but none of them appeared in my phone. I read that there were cases of Maxis unable to send out those message because their MNP system went down. Seems to me their MNP system really sucks that they are unable to fix them permanently (I am referring to this thread https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3717528/all)

I called up the customer service and they told me my iPhone 6 Plus might be spoiled thus I am unable to receive message. They further said that my other two supplementary lines phones might have also spoiled because they were also unable to received Maxis SMS. Mind you both the other lines also iPhone 6, now I am suspicious that iPhones might not be reliable at all because I am unable to receive SMS specifically from Maxis. Strangely I still can receive messages from other phones.

So anyone here had successfully ported out of Maxis and live to tell the story on how to port out? I am here to listen. Please.

Even after replied yes, maxis staff need to modify something in their system to port to other telco.

Took me 3 working days and 3 calls. 2 calls to maxis and 1 call to celcom. Celcom said it's problem from maxis side, luckily the final call to maxis solve the problem.

Check ur blocked phone no and messages from your phone setting maybe.

Actually there is no blocked numbers and SMS all working fine. Changed the phone and they asked me to restart the Android phone. Still never receive any messages from Maxis.

Anyone here survived to tell the story of their nightmare? I really appreciate to hear how to port of from Hotel California, er... I mean Maxis.

Yeah, but I still try it out of desperation to move out. blush.gif

Till now no message from Maxis. I had called the new ISP to resubmit for port for 4 times and seems like Maxis isn't lifting at all other than blaming on my phone.

Well it seems Maxis purposely delay you to port.
It is illogical that the phone broke and cannot receive SMS.
You should go to Maxis Centre and ask what is the problem.
Sometimes they do this purposely to prevent many port outs.
Many customers already run away from Maxis.

correct me if im wrong... i thought you just have to go to the preferred telco and just request to them to port out from your current telco. Provided the line is under your name.

Well, that’s what I did dear. The thing is every port out will require the current service provider permission. The current provider which in my case is Maxis is still not able to send me any sms for me to confirm the port out. So without that I am stuck and I am still paying Maxis every month.

So if you are using Maxis now maybe you should be aware that this might happen to you too when you are trying to port out.
