Oh, so other than apple service battery consider fake one?  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif
*
i won’t call it fake, just that it is not OEM. There ain’t any OEM iPhone battery unless the Co that makes the battery for Apple sell it to you.

ther’s sparepart lying around on the internet. Pretty sure you can buy the seal online and look for the tutorial on Youtube. Luckily mine don’t have the seal so can just plug and play
*
i rather pay rm129 than waste time changing the battery and search online for tutorial. i’ll leave it to the expert. Putting a 3rd party component also will void any deal that Apple dish out in the future.

that’s entirely up to you. I’m just sharing my opinion.
*
i’m just sharing the downside of replacing battery on your own.

They will have to run a diagnostic test on your phone to determine if the battery need replacement. If you past the test they will change the battery for you.
*
just to be clear. they have to change if you are paying, regardless of what is the diagnosis result.

i would like to ask, my iphone 6 plus just act up yesterday and even when on standby it's draining battery fast, so last nite it's on full charge, when i woke up the phone's flat.

now i don't have a backup phone but i can still borrow one. should i send it to switch for replacement battery program and wait 7 days? or just go out to shops for replacements that i think cost around rm80 and can take back on the same day.
*
well, my advise is to get it done by APR to avoid any complication and also Apple might announce 'goodie' in the future smile.gif

Ooo what sort of goodies? tongue.gif
*
like the battery replacement discount right now. maybe after they settled the whole performance throttling issue we might get free batteries. smile.gif

last time I recalled they gave free iPhone cover as well due to signal issue.

When will this program end? Coz I think my 7plus battery is still good. I want to change my battery last possible moment.
*
till end of 2018. I would avoid a last minute rush.

Good catch. I saw it as well. I think those who made a third party repair before would also be disqualified right?
*
yup. no 3rd party repair.

Continuing my experience,
After the counter staff gave a physical inspection on my iPhone 6 for water damage and any other signs of damages as mentioned earlier, he duly accepted my phone together with an advanced payment of RM129.
Lastly, he also mentioned in the event of hardware failure during a diagnostic test my phone will not be eligible for the battery replacement program and RM100.00 will be deducted and only the balance of RM29 will be refunded to me.
*
i can’t understand why diagnosis test can’t be done on the run in the shop. I’ve done a few diagnosis test on the spot in Apple Store Sg or even service provider. Totally free.

Can’t get beyond the awful English written in the email. This is seriously an Apple Authorized Service Center? The email sounds more like it was written by one of those young chaps with dyed hair manning a dodgy phone booth at a shopping complex, haha...
*
my thought exactly. very poor command of english.

To my understanding , phone which has repaired by third party they would reject for the battery replacement ?
And they would not cover if the phone not able to boot or whatever for the replacement ?
*
yes. absolutely. they would not touch any phone repaired by 3rd party OR phone not in working condition.
