hopefully APR don’t play any stunt and give reason not to replace the battery. there just ain’t a lot of incentive for them to do it.

Do you have to purchased your iPhone from Switch to be eligible for battery replacement at their service centres? Need to bring receipt along?
I bought mine from Maxis
*
not require. as long as your phone in working order and no 3rd party repair/replacement before.

If it's going to take 5-7 days, I think I will wait till June.
I don't have spare phone and cannot wait for a few days.
*
or if you got opportunity going to Sg, do it there. 2 hours

Well yea I'm sure they have high volume of units to replace now...wait for a few months then it'll slow down... btw from my experience normally it only take 1-2 days despite stating 5-7 days..
*
I think highest volume would be Jan, Feb and Dec.

But the Apple Store will have loads of people too, I believe. Wonder if they can really keep to 2 hours as promised?
*
they control the crowd by a systematic online reservation.

I think most service centers will have some kind of nominal labour charge just to run diagnostics even without repairing. Pretty normal.
*
I went Apple Center Sg on Tuesday to diagnose my out of warranty iP6. FOC. Turns out mobo died.
I believe those APR pocket the money.

My friend made an appointment with machines. He was told that the technician will check the battery health and if it’s due for change, then they will order the parts. Which means he needs to leave the phone with them for 5-7 days. If this is the case, it is better for us to wait for Apple to release the patch (they said it’s Jan) to check battery health ourselves so we can see how severe our battery is and decide if you want to send in the beginning of the year or end of the year, when it deteriorate further.
*
if your friend are paying for it and not claiming warranty, the diagnosis results doesn't really matter. they will have to change if your friend insist. else, call Apple.

What if they claimed they have changed but didn’t actually change. Because, you know, MALAYSIA Boleh?

Isn’t it better to wait for that tool so we can check ourselves.
*
why can't u ask for the new battery diagnosis results? can't be that difficult right?

well if he can doubt their credits in replacing new battery, they could also tell you yes its affected when its actually not, and when you send in the phone, they still wont change for u..biggrin.gif
*
and face the prospect of risk getting their image tarnish and lost the APR right over RM129? I think not.

exactly biggrin.gif actually the few times experience I had with AASP were quite ok... no major issue besides some hiccups here and there...

I find ppl are too paranoid sometimes. Some to the extend of purposely look for fault in a piece of equipment when it is pretty negligible. Things like battery draining issue, display yellowish issue, dust in lens among others. Equipment tends to have some acceptable fault tolerance.

I think over here the replacement is done by APR instead of Apple staff. Wondering how is the quality of work. The accountability on damaging your phone is definitely much lesser if compare to Apple own staff.

I waited an hour to find that out at a reseller store. So save your time and headache and just get an OEM battery for less time and less money.
*

lol. looks like a con case to me. if you willing to fork out rm129, they have to replace for you.
they is no oem battery on the market, just clone china made batteries. please be clear on what oem actually means before commenting.

I was a tech writer for two years so I do know what OEM means. Also, I checked it with the Apple technician in KL and another Apple technician in Perak. One quoted RM180 for half an hour's job and another one for RM191 for an hour's job.

And if you think the reseller is a con case...it was Mac City FYI.

So, unless you are Tim Cook, I think you shouldn't be so snarky and self-righteous about what's OEM and what's a con case.
*
if you really understood OEM then you would know the batteries manufacturer for Apple iPhone batteries will not sell the battery to others. Well, that is your OEM.
