QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 29 2021, 08:21 AM) third party apps not from tv playstore, best install on separate box if u have one. thanks for the info !!!that way, u avoid potential strange issues with security protocols. my unit is almost 3 years old now, all is good. time flies... in a couple years time, may shop for new one! |

QUOTE(Kuantan Guy @ May 23 2021, 08:04 PM) I've read some previous comments Not really... Basically, AVFAN recommends (and I agree) to stick with apps available in the TV's Play Store if possible. This is because these apps have been heavily customized or optimized specifically for large TV viewing and as such should have less issues. Those regular Android OS apps can work (test first), but it's better to run those off an external box...which just like the TV...has been optimized to run regular Android OS apps better. That avfan encouraged everyone to sideload 3rd party apps but now he changed his tune |

And 4 other boxes. Back then, with android5, u cud install most 3rd party apks and run them smoohtly, like in any generic box. Over time, until android9, the security protocols got stricter while 3rd party apps become nastier. You wud have known this if u have used enough of generic androids, ATV, official apps, modded apps, bad apps. |

Watching on TCL C716 without problem. This post has been edited by stasio: Jun 3 2021, 04:53 AM |

I have been using unifitv on this tv for a while. However, lately the error code 01999 keeps poping up. I have tried clear cache, reinstall the apps (latest version is 1.2.14) but to no avail. BBC iplayer etc works normally.
I have even called TM to reset my connection but still didnt work. Anything else I should try? |

A bit funny since Netflix, Youtube, BBC player(even play via the Unifitv apps itself) work as normal. I will check my router setting whether any thinkering might help. Thanks again. |

Anything else I should try? has no problem getting it to run, the problem starts when u start switching apps around or back from standby then the audio n vid starts to unsync. even forcefully ending the app, the audio still runs behind my current workaround is clearing the app cache and it seems to work talking bout 'conglomerate's app quality..zzzzz till today i dont understand why they couldnt merge unifi TV with playTV |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jun 10 2021, 04:47 PM) this is strange. I too installed it directly from playstore and it had been updating itself as and when new version was available. It is only recently that I having this problem. i started using it when it was first available from playstore, installed from there... and it self updates if there is new version. sometimes, the channel selection does not come on when u press arrow down... do a restart, it comes back. Nothing worked. I have changed cables from Cat 5e to Cat 7 even though I know that TV LAN port is only fast ethernet. I even tried to connect the TV directly to the router and not through the switch which I normally did, switched off DCHP sever and Adguard on the Raspberry Pie, but still didnt work. I could select the channel selection by pressing the arrow down and it would give the current programmes but once I press OK, it would not play. The 01999 kept coming back. I guess I should reuse the setup box for the time being until the new update is available and hopefully they will fix this problem. Thank you and any suggestion is always welcomed. |
