I'd recommend a Bluetooth transmitter such as the Ugreen Bluetooth 4.2 Transmitter & Receiver...Connect, setup and forget..

I have been using it since the beginning... connected to AVR.

Sounds find, dolby 5.1 when applicable.

Hi all,
Anybody had installed HBO Go or HBO Now from Google Play Store? I had installed both app but no voice sound come out when I play the movie. Only music or background sound come out from the movie.
Any suggestions?

Hbo go is not in tv playstore.

Hbo now is not available locally, it is for other countries... unless u use VPN.

These, like Astro go will not work well on the tv becos these apps are not AndroidTV or ATV approved.

If u want to use these apps, buy a separate box that runs on regular android and compatible with those apps.

Yes I got both apps appear in my ATV Playstore when I connect my tv to US vpn.
Very strange because only that apps are not Ok while others such as Hulu, Disney+, FuboTV, Starz, Epic etc are Ok and didn't have any single problem at all.

if your us vpn is working, then all us apps will work, usually.

the apps u mentioned are common approved apps for smart TV's in usa, incl ATV.


local hbo go is under astro... and like astrogo, the the apps have recently gone thru changes... made unfriendly to ATV os.

the old versions used to work good, but not anymore... as to why, only they themselves know.

hbo now is only for outside us, right? perhaps such apps won't work with us vpn.... try some other country vpn.

This HBO service is for US only because it's attached with DirecTV account which is an US streaming service provider. For vpn I used ExpressVPN.

Maybe it's just the setting of my Sharp ATV itself. Because when I use it on my PC it works. I already try disable the surround setting still no luck. Trying looking for another sound setting. Try and error 😅

likely an ATV issue, blocked locally.

link for HBO Go apk (extract from HK playstore, compatible for Android TV), can link with astro account that include HBO package.

Things may have changed.
Mibox, oher low end ATV devices and smart tvs are getting screwed by astrogo and unifiplaytv.
Local Hbogo may suffer same.

Local id.pw will work.... foreign, use of vpn.. may be not.
These guys are now getting good at it.... to restrict use to country of origin only.
And google ATV is helping them.

At last my HBO Go and HBO Now working after I do a reset factory setting of my Sharp ATV this morning. Now voice come out loud and clear.

mine working fine, link to my astro account, no VPN required...btw, im using it on amazon fire tv.
