Anyone use before pocket wifi from Wiyo? I see all same operator. By right should be same quality of network but maybe just device quality difference?

Wanna book from Klook but its only available soonest by 16 April. Going off on 11 April.

Thanks.

Using it now in Japan. Speed is fast and good (stream 1080p 60fps Youtube without any issue). Used 16GB in 5days

Good.. will call and book now
Thanks for the feedback

But how about the device;s battery? can last for how long roughly?
*
Using it since 7am and battery depleted around 3pm. 2 ppl connecting.

They don’t normally provide USB C cable but you can ask them when you collect the device from them

Onsen/ryokan facilities are about the same. Only key differences are the location and how lavish u want to stay (from basic, to in-room private hot bath etc.)

Hi would like to ask suggestion for those who ever been to usj during the golden week season. Not sure to go on a friday (27th april) or monday (7th may). I am trying to avoid the weekends and the 29th april-5th may week, must be super crowded 😅. Anyone just came back recently from osaka and played the detective conan event in USJ? Isit worth it to get the express pass for the cool event? Thanks

from your experience the officers were not suspicious that you did not buy any tax-free item coming back from tokyo?

They don’t bother 1. And not really practical also tbh. You can just say u check-in into luggage if they really asked

Standard price during sakura season

Maybe you should consider ANA/JAL since it will be a direct flight from KLIA (well, unless u r based in SG)

First time i felt jap being rude. Shoo`ing people queue right infront of their shop. Then only i get to know actually they are chinese people hired for the mainlander market.

Cheapest Sashimi don was 2500 yen which i can get a better one at 1500 yen in Kuromon.
The only thing cant find in Kuromon is the omelette roll (Really damn sweet and nice)

Luckily i got my sushi craving settled. If not kena potong there.

There is this store which they sell Grilled fish for just 500 yen (not typical salmon), its damn good. I asked for rice and he say dont have! wasted la!
*
My sushi experience was kinda horrible for this Japan trip. I went to Uobei Genki Sushi in Shibuya to try out since it has good review in Tripadvisor (don't want to wait so long for Sushi no Midori)

It's definitely cheap, but the sushi quality and taste was quite bad for me and my gf (not even decent in my books). More worthwhile to pay slightly more and go for a decent kaiten sushi restaurant

Hi going Japan on 5-11 July. Wana ask which Michelin star omakase sushi is good and worth?

Thought of going for sushi jiro but heard need 3-4 months advance booking and also is a but overrated. Need opinion on this

Also how to book for these kind of omakase sushi?
*
1. Book a 5-star hotel and ask the concierge help you to make reservation
2. Some website offers reservation service for a fee but I don't know about the success rate

For the list of restaurant to choose from, see Tabelog ranking and review

Hi guys, I will be flying off to Japan this coming Friday. Just wanna check, what is the common leisure dress code for guys there? If I wear bermuda pants, will I have any issue accessing the temple?

Facing a lot of obstacles, especially the bus trip from Narita to Kawaguchiko. They only allow one baggage per person put inside the bus storage. As I'm bring 2 baggage myself. I might need to think of using courier service in Narita Airport to deliver to hotel in Tokyo which I will be coming over after 2 days stay in Kawaguchiko.
*
Better this way since it will be a hassle to carry big luggage when moving around in Kawaguchiko/Hakone

Thanks! points taken. smile.gif
Yeah, I'm thinking the same way as well. Just that I have to pay more. haha.
*
Bro, you earning SGD. Don't so kiamsiap la. Go holiday just enjoy more la.

Anyway, not sure about the costs, but it should be quite reasonable, no? Should be 1-2k yen at most depending on luggage size? If you compare putting it at coin-lockers for 2 days which cost you 500-600yen/day, then the 'extra cost' is just a bit mah

I sent a cabin-size luggage from Takayama to a hotel in Tokyo and it cost me only about 1450yen

itinery still in planning. just wondering is it feasible to take the train (using JR PASS) from kyoto( planning to stay in kyoto) to osaka in the afternoon and come back to kyoto at night? i checked google map and its says it take 1hour29min per trip but here i see some people mention it only takes 30minutes.
*
Kyoto-Osaka won't take you more than 1 hour of commuting including transfer(s) etc to reach key destination in Osaka like Namba. Take normal rapid train service would do, not need Shinkansen

Wait since we're on the topic of Shibazakura. The ticket get at Kawaguchiko station?
I saw that they have 2,000 yen pass which includes the return bus ride and entrance ticket. However I also read on their site that if the bloom almost end, the entry fee might be waived off.

I'm going 3rd week of May, so hopefully it's still good.
*
Yes, just get it at the Kawaguchiko bus station.

At first misread it to be 3rd of May lol, which should be full bloom. Last time i visit there around 21 April and the flowers haven't fully developed dry.gif

Maybe you should also see weather forecast to avoid cloudy day. if not, your big Mt Fuji will just be covered in cloud

Yet to plan for what to do. Maybe Himeji. Then back to osaka.
Head for Osaka airport (10pm flight black to malaysia)

With this kinda planinng, JR PASS is more suitable right?
*
A lot of in inputs...so let's start

1. I assume u fly in Tokyo and fly out from Kansai Airport? Based on your itinerary, you should look at Hokuriku Arch Pass which covers most of the Shinkansen you are taking. it's cheaper at 24,000 yen also.

2. For Toyama-Shirakawago, you can purchase the bus ticket online (1 month before) from JapanBusOnline. Same thing with your Shirakawago-Kanazawa bus.

3. For Tokyo leg, you should consider grouping Asakusa-Odaiba-Akibahara together since they are within the same vicnity. Same with Meiji Jingu-Harajuku-Shibuya. Though to be honest, there's not much of an improvement over your original itinerary given you have only 2 days.

4. Shirakawago - why not consider spending a night in the Grass house?

5. For 8-day trip, you really should consider just focusing Osaka/Kyoto or Tokyo areas. but i guess you already booked flight..so yeah...

haha. kinda worried also about our leg power. Basically we place our main objectives early in the morning like Tsukiji / Asakusa / Arashiyama / Fushimi Inari so we can have ample of times to enjoy it. The rest of the day might even adjust according to our stamina level.  tongue.gif

Initially plan to book our hotel in kyoto but after reading here, i think its more feasible to stay in osaka. Still need to slot in himeji-jo
Planning to book our hotel in shibuya so it will be more convenient. Not really tat shopaholic.
blink.gif  Lucky you got mention. Noted about osaka-jo to kuromon. Ota Road ....  wub.gif  but but got bring home minister how????  bangwall.gif

Umeda will be in my list then.  blush.gif
Yes yes we fly in Tokyo and out Osaka. Booked it before I had a chance to come here have a look see. Shirakawago i already booked hotel at Shirakawago-yu already.

Thanks for the grouping area tips in tokyo. Its just that we would like to concentrate on the place we want to go first - Tsukiji / Asakusa / Arashiyama / Fushimi Inari. And after that only go for other places.

JapanBusOnline. Just wondering will be difficult to book the ticket on site? Anyone with experience here?
Hokuriku Arch Pass - noted. thanks for the tips .  notworthy.gif

Really appreciate the inputs. I will need to adjust my itinery. Thanks.
*
JapanBusOnline - it's quite simple and hassle free. Just select the timing of the bus that you want. Input your name and no. of pax, and pay with CC. Show the booking confirmation email to the bus driver/conductor to board on that day.

In case you are confused, the list of buses in the initial page is end-to-end i.e. Toyama/Kanazawa to Takayama. When you select the time you want, the 2nd page will let you select the leg of the whole journey i.e. Toyama-Shirakawago and Shirakawago-Takayama

hi, just wanna ask some opinion, plan to go japan, but for first time should i go tokyo or kyoto+ osaka or hokkaido ?
*
Depending on what you looking for

Kyoto+Osaka is a balanced mix with Kyoto letting you see the traditional side of Japan while Osaka is a modern city.

Tokyo is a lot more heavy on shopping and pop culture, a lot of things for you to do if you are an anime/manga fan. Bonus is that you can do a 1-2 day side trip to Mt Fuji areas, which definitely is a key destination for everyone.

In term of theme parks, i think young adults will appreciate USJ more than Disneyland/DisneySEA

On Hokkaido, haven't been there yet but my impression is more about nature viewing, eating nice seafood, etc.

I've been looking over hyperdia and google map for the train routes in japan. Just to double confirm my findings:  rclxub.gif

When you guys mention Hokuriku Shinkansen, you are referring to the train line / train track right? And the actual train to take is actually called

1. SHINKANSEN KAGAYAKI 521
2. SHINKANSEN HAKUTAKA 555

And do we actually have to make a reservation for our seats from our trip from tokyo to toyama? Or we can just go to the station on the day of the departure and use our Hokuriku Arch Pass to board the train to toyama?  notworthy.gif

I did notice in Hyperdia for reservation price is lower than stated for reservation. But if we are using the JR PASS (the hokuriku arch pass), we can overlook the price right?
*
Kagayaki is the fastest (less 20min? travel time) because of fewer stations. Hakutaka is the slower 1.

Normal procedure i think you go to the JR Ticket office and reserve a seat. Then they will issue the Shinkansen ticket for you. It’s not just show pass and can board it, even for non-reserved seating
