To be honest, although I was on the HG scheme before, but for the past 2-3 weeks I havent't been able to collect enough incentives to cover my costs. More often than not, my collected fares exceeded my incentives by a country mile. So I think this new change will not have that much impact on me although RM10 incentive means "free" RM50 for your next fare collection.

Anyway, is there is a difference whether I turn AA on or not because I very seldom drive between 8am-9am and 5pm-8pm?

By the way, something really surprised me this evening. One MyCar fellow received a trip request from Mont Kiara to KLIA for RM77. I thought it's only RM59 flat rate for them?

So next year you guys must pergi kursus psv? Medical, Puspacom etc.

Honestly, if you love transporting than getting a proper job, it is much much more advisable to drive a taxi. My father, a retiree, is driving a taxi for 5-6 years di. He is earning around RM 6-8k nett. He told me before that Grab has affected him but not that much because the beauty of driving a taxi is:

1) The commitment is low, RM 40/day for 3-4 years. Normal maintenance is bourne by the company.
2) Tolls are half the price
3) Special lanes in town
4) The fuel is way way more economical
5) There is no commission, what you see from the meter is what you earn.
6) Identifiable, if you feel like it, get hailed, if not e-hail. Totally up to you, totally under your control.
The great thing about driving grab was its HG scheme and the regulation was loose. But since now that scheme is over and the regulation puts you levelled with taxis, there is absolutely no benefit for full-timers. Advertising on your taxi can also get you the same amount as Grab pay you, sometimes even more.

His advice was just be honest with your customers and make your own name card. Most of his jobs are airports from around his area and they are willing to pay him RM 100 per trip (sometimes more up to RM 200 if its an expat). Once a month he gets urgent delivery jobs to Johor (RM 800/trip) or Penang (RM 1400/trip). His biggest jerung was RM 3000 for an overnight stay in Penang because the document was so urgent and the boss needed to sign the following day. Others are like RM200 for Genting etc. Sometimes he told me that in 15 days when he hit his target of RM 6000 net, he will go on a trip with his brother (my uncle) to Thailand.

Here I am grinding and getting pissed at a company that doesn't care hahaha

Any city in Malaysia facing far pick up "glitch" currently? Actually it is not a glitch, it was an algorithm designed to counter fake bookings (those who cheat incentives/promo code). It happened last year in some cities and "resolved" within weeks, but currently Grab is running this algorithm cruelly to one of the city in Malaysia, which is Sibu.

Sibu is currently one of the worst city to drive Grab in, one of the lowest income/salary city in Malaysia, packed with Grab drivers everywhere and lack of demand. It is normal to get 0 to 1 RM4 job in an hour or two, average full time drivers here get below RM15 total fare per hour, with no special incentives except 10%-25% cashback with 90-150 trips completed in a week, which is awfully diffucult. Most of the full time drivers here bring back RM2000+- clean profit with long driving hours, at least 12 hours+ per day, many are driving 14-16 hours per day to make RM2000-RM3000+ clean profit per month. Drivers who drive 8-10 hours are only expected to make below RM1500.

And yet, Grab slammed us with this far pick up "glitch" since 2 months ago, to further fuck us up. Sibu is a small city, with lots of cars and traffic light, it creates insanely unpleasant experience to both drivers and riders when Grab assign a job stubbornly to a driver 4-5km away, which is 50th~100th nearest drivers available. Riders can always see those Grab cars with stickers on parking in front of them while drivers waiting for jobs, but Grab decided to assign the job to some driver far away. Everyday there are riders who asked us why Grab are purposely assigning drivers from far away and we are speechless on how to answer them.

Countless complaints had been made by drivers/riders regarding the situation, but Grab blatantly replied all of us with, "there is no similar issue reported by other drivers/riders, it is only you and your gps problem for getting far pick up jobs" or "because nearer drivers didn't accept the jobs" which are all false claims. We had grab drivers from Sibu traveled to Grab HQ in West Malaysia to resolve this issue but to no avail.

To improve current situation, I would propose:
- Assigning jobs to nearer drivers, if Grab doesn't want to assign a job to the 1st nearest driver, assign it to someone who is 5th~10th nearest (currently it is like 20th~50th nearest drivers most of the time, and sometimes 50th~100th nearest drivers, imagine the nightmare), OR
- Lesser incentives, revert back to assigning job to 1st nearest driver, OR
- Smaller job allocation radius, it is 5km currently, but sibu is so small that even 3km radius would be sufficient. Even 1 km pick up distance in city centre is a hell lot of work with the need of passing thru several traffic lights. Ideal radius would be 1 km in city centre, 3 km radius outside of city centre, and 5 km radius to the outskirt.

Those who are able to tag GDMA regarding this issue in Sibu Sarawak, please do so, and thank you very much.

need to plan, if like that, just cancel high fare or towards kl city area . this is like old strategy....

I'm not venting though, I know there's a surcharge, the app itself says there'll be an RM9 surcharge, and I think it's already in the price stated by the app. I just wanted clarification if surcharge is the toll/ferry/whatever, or if the toll is yet another charge not counted in the surcharge.

Basically the trip is, I think 25 or so.... then + surcharge RM9 = 34 or so, which is what's written on the app. I just wanna be sure if the RM34 is the total, or will there be another RM9 toll charge, making it 43. Just want to be sure as to prepare enough credit or cash leh.

Taxi: Rm 100-120
Ublur: Rm 75
But still alright due to the surge 1.3x-2.8x also got request. And it’s used to be jack port to the driver.
Crap: Rm 65
Die die no surge. Don’t bother high demand, low demand, heavy traffic, raining, holiday eve. Yet have promotion at holiday month.
MyCar: Rm 55

Who’s else? Rm 50? Rm 45?
