RM317 only...? You must have had a heck lots of Shopee vouchers...  brows.gif

Mind sharing the link on Shopee...?
*
Not really, I use 3,000 coins tongue.gif

1. In shopee app, search for Carbatterydelivery.com (Shopee Mall) 4.9 stars.
2. Then search for Q85, click 'Watch" on the LIVE video (must buy during live for cheaper price).
3. Click on the cart BUY NOW, select Trade In ---> BUY NOW
4. Under Shipping Option select 'Seller's own fleet' which is FOC.
5. To get more discounts, you can use COINS.

Note: If you didn't get a discount of RM115.73 at Platform Vouchers, then you would need to subscribe to Shopee VIP. Which is free for the first month, just cancel before it renews.

Hope it helps.

Hi guys, i need to replace my car's battery. Can recommend me a good q85 brand? Also, do we really need to reset the i-start function after replacing the battery or any car workshop can do it?
*
Been using Varta Q85 for 2 years, still alright ... Any car workshop can replace.

Thanks for your feedback! I'll just get one from Shopee, Mazda PJ branch just quoted me RM690 with 2 years warranty  sweat.gif

heck....so expensive, aeson sodium battery now priced lower with 3 year warranty....less than half the weight of a q85 but DOUBLE the CCA flex.gif

this was my reading after having it on after a month :

If a Q85 battery can die every year, doesn't the RM690 with a 2-year warranty battery make up for it as opposed to the RM460+ battery a year...? That is provided if these batteries only last a year or so...  sweat.gif

BTW, Mazda iStart/Stop function sucks or Q85 battery sucks, or both...?  hmm.gif
*
it is the whole concept of start/stop that sucks....not practical for our climate, as when start/stop activates, the aircond compressor stops, feel melting hot especially in the afternoon, hardly save meaningful amounts of petrol to be honest

the indirect benefit of this function is that, the starter motor and main crank journals/bearings are fortified to deal with more start/stop cycle...i just went to service my starter, the mechanic so surprised so little carbon powder in the enclosure, everything inside looks cantik even after 11+ years

QUOTE(Jo@NJS @ Apr 8 2026, 06:45 PM)
I just ordered one from Shopee for RM317.17 with 1 year warranty, if it dies before it hits 2 years then yea i'll probably purchase from Mazda SC the next round.

For me, I don't use the i-stop function at all. I wish i could disable it permanently.

if you don't wish to buy a battery charger, every half a year, bring to the car battery shop and request for a full recharge service, some shop will even do it for you for free....their industrial type 12v charger are pretty good at reconditioning the battery

.....and just get the hang of turning it off when starting the engine, i did that for probably 10 years already...the most durable button in the car sweat.gif

1) Koni Special Active if got budget. Or Tein EnduraPro

2) Got budget then Michelin, can't go wrong with Primacy (for comfort) or Pilot Sport (for handling). More budget friendly option can consider Hankook, Continental, Good Year

Suggest you to stay with genuine Mazda absorbers, Made in Japan. A set is about RM7xx absorbers only. Also consider replacing top mounts, spring bearings and bump stops together, the labour is the same. Mine all perished at <100k KM. If wish to keep your car for few more years, use all genuine Mazda parts.

I made a mistake by replacing Eibach lowering springs on stock absorbers, it cannot cope with the higher spring rate and shorter travel, thus harsher ride. But it is very noticeable that smaller bumps get filtered out much better than worn absorbers. I have a set of Tein Endura Pro+ on order to remedy it, wasted money sweat.gif

The Endura Pro/Pro+ will work with stock springs too, but imo there's no point since you prioritise comfort. Stock suspension is good enough to do casual genting run with above average speeds.

Have you tried the Koni SA? How does it perform on Malaysian roads?

Based on discussion with a suspension shop, they didn't recommend me to get Koni Sport due to difficulty in servicing it properly.
Read many cases of aftermarket absorbers (regardless of brands) leaking prematurely, if it cannot be properly serviced after warranty period. That would influence my decision.

if takut mati, stick to mazda genuine....i myself changed to drs heavy duty slightly below RM500 a pair after shopee voucher

alternative can get GAB SA or SR series (similar priced as the drs above), or normal premium series (black colour) which is stock equivalent at slightly below RM400 a pair

I don't find the drs to be any much harsher compared to the stock version....

tein enduro series is good as direct OEM spring and mount fit, but cost more than double, depends on your wallet cool2.gif

Other than that, since you are going to drop the suspension, other than the consumables mentioned by CAL V, suggest you also change the front lower arm and front anti roll bar bush. This anti roll bar bush is the main bugger for the nyek nyek sound of earlier CKD batches. Do a brake fluid change and maybe can consider changing the front brake disc if above 150k km mileage.

Optional, but i myself also did a front bearing change and drive shaft change. One side bearing failing and the drive shaft slightly deformed after the mechanic dismantled and checked. Bearing get mazda ori or ntn, or in a budget, can get gaido OEM brand where they dare to give 60k km/1 year warranty. Drive shaft also i bought gaido brand (also with 60k km/1 year warranty)

More importantly, if you have not done a transmission fluid drain, please do it alongside the atf filter change.

Also, I would suggest to change the atf cooler unit (up to you whether you want or or OEM for that) since your car is at year 10. I had a bad experience where the atf cooler broke internally after a really bad pothole, causing the atf and radiator fluid to mix. Cost me 1k just to do multiple drains and flush to clear up the messed up fluids.

Not a direct comparison, but have you tried Tesla Model 3 before? The feeling is similar, since Koni SA uses frequency selective damping as well. It's relatively soft and comfortable while driving normally under reasonable speed, but can feel more firm at higher speed or pushing around corners

As for longevity, can't say for sure. I think it depends on how you drive and the road condition as well

Guys, just want a clarification. Does the new Maz3 variants have wireless on BOTH ACP and AA or it's just for ACP? I've seen alot of reviews, they keep mentioning it's only WACP.
