correction, up to 130/90 and down to 110/70 is normal, anything above 130 systolic and 90 diastolic for a prolonged period of time is borderline hypertension

wow still young. consistently above 140/90 already considered stage 1 hypertension.

prevalence of chronic disease such as hypertension and diabetes at young age is quite shocking in malaysia

your blood pressure is nothing to worry about, but considering your age and bmi of course, eat less sodium, increase intake of fluids, if you’re smoking, consider on quitting it, and take up a healthy lifestyle, move out and about, go for a jog in the morning or sign up for a gym and spend at least 5-10 hours a week there , you are just borderline HT and now is the right time to straighten things out, hypertension could lead to many other complications if left neglected

Irregular blood pressure hike is worse than having irregular diabetes spike.... Sometimes you never know that your BP reach 180/100 in a second because of stresses... And it could lead to stroke

138/94mm Hg.

Your systolic which is 138 is within normal limits. It refers to your hear pumping pressure.

Your diastolic which is 94mm Hg refers to your returning to heart pressure (after the blood circulates) is a little higher than ideal.

I would suggest a repeat with a manual Blood Pressure device (sphygmomanometer) done by the doctor (not the pharmacist) after resting a while would be good and more reliable.

High blood pressure can contribute to high RHR, and also the food your take, for example high sodium.

Early stage of hypertension. If you consult a doctor, he would probably prescribed medication to control your blood pressure. Bear in mind, once you started medication, there is no stop, one has to continue for life. Check you pressure at different time for a few days, maybe your pressure is high due to stress or even a flu/fever or lack of sleep.

In the meantime, take less salts and oily stuff. Also take celery. Celery is good in controlling blood pressure. Eat celery raw isn't that nice. Most people make celery + green apple juice and drink daily.

Brother take care of your blood pressure. You are still young. Just last week saw on TV news, that reported the age of Malaysians with hypertension is getting lower and lower to 20s and 30s already.

thats bloody high mang..are u serious?? comparing to your BP read and your alleged resting HB. i think u better go check up mang. prevention is better than cure. worst case you have to eat BP medicine for the rest of your lift. now go to the fucking clinic. STAT!!

Recently the new reference has been released in Journal of the American College of Cardiology

A new definition of high blood pressure (hypertension)

(Please note that all numbers refer to mm Hg, or, millimeters of mercury.) The guidelines, in a nutshell, state that normal blood pressure is under 120/80, whereas up until Monday, normal was under 140/90.

Now, elevated blood pressure (without a diagnosis of hypertension) is systolic blood pressure (the top number) between 120 and 129. That used to be a vague category called “prehypertension.”

Stage 1 high blood pressure (a diagnosis of hypertension) is now between 130 and 139 systolic or between 80 and 89 diastolic (the bottom number).

Stage 2 high blood pressure is now over 140 systolic or 90 diastolic.

The measurements must have been obtained from at least two careful readings on at least two different occasions. What does careful mean? The guidelines provide a six-step tutorial on how, exactly, to correctly measure a blood pressure, which, admittedly, is sorely needed. My patients often have their first blood pressure taken immediately after they have rushed in through downtown traffic, as they’re sipping a large caffeinated beverage. While we always knew this could result in a falsely elevated measurement, it is now officially poor clinical technique resulting in an invalid reading.

Exercise can reduce it

5 years+ ago I was 140/90
Then I exercise regularly
Now usually 110/70
Sometimes 120/80
Only hectic day hit 130/85
