my redmi 5 sreen got dull (yellowish) after 1 week of purchase.

Is Xiaomi service outlet in Plaza Lowyat still in operation?
*
The old Mi service outlet at Low Yat Plaza closed down.
There's a new one on the same floor (4th)...it's tiny and seems to be an authorized service outlet, not owned by Mi.
tel: 03-2110 5842

I went there to ask if they sold the BM42 battery for my old Note 3G...no luck. They don't sell spare parts, and that battery is long out of production sad.gif

I remember when the Note 3G first came out...there was a big issue about yellow screens too...something about the glue holding the digitizer from the lcd screen together, it was coming apart, causing the yellowish cast. Fortunately my unit was not affected. Hope your 5 gets repaired fast.

Thank you for your suggestion. I bought Honor 9 Lite yesterday but cancelled it today because no supported 4G Band 5. I totally forgot 5 plus is full HD+, I thought their differences are just size and processor. I'm definitely go for 5 Plus now.  thumbsup.gif

For optimum use of UnifiMobile best is to get a mobile with band 5,38 n 40.

I'm no mobile network expert; can u please explain why we need bands 38 and 40 when Unifi Mobile only uses band 5? Thanks.

True, the Redmi range especially is very good value for money if MIUI is your cup of tea.

I used Android One on the MiA1 for a while and it was all smooth with 4GB RAM. The newly announced Nokia 7 Plus would be an interesting prospect, although I find the price a tad bit high.
*
Nokia 7 Plus has an f1.75 cam, SD660 and usb-C. But I agree with u...the price is really on the high side. Someone I know is dead-set on getting it though...mainly cos of nostalgia associated with the Nokia name biggrin.gif There's better value-for-money phones out there.

Got any official Unifi webpage where we can check this? I'm just curious. I've searched and only found mention of Band 5 for Unifi Mobile.

It's basically a non-issue because all those bands are supported by the 5 Plus:
https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/OeqzX...-td-lte-cn-32gb

It'll also be interesting if there's an app that lets us see which band the 5/5 Plus is currently using smile.gif

Tap Internet Storage in about phone and go to phone information 1 or 2 respectively depending on which sim card slot you are using and compare the earfcn to this website http://niviuk.free.fr/lte_band.php to find out the network band using.

Alternatively, just root your phone and install Network Signal Guru and you will get it.

I am too, being caught on the wave of Nokia 7 but more like Nokia 7 vs coming Redmi 5 Pro.

-Cleaner/Efficient Android One OS
-Type-C Charging (I had invested in multiple Type C Cable and hope to have Type-C Chargeable Laptop like XPS 13 in the coming year)
- Best Mid-Class Processor

But I wonder whether I should stack-in another half-a-thousand to get Nokia 7. That's a lot of money, might just save another 1.5K - in total 3K for the best P20 Pro.

EARFCN within 38650 to 39649 is band 40. 39150 is the midpoint.

No need lah. Nowadays batteries uses lithium polymer, not nickel cadmium or nickel metal hydride

Just charge full, unplug and use until left below 10%, charge full again and use. Repeat few cycle the battery will reach max cap already
