I just discovered the weakness of cheap hdmi cable..
i wall mounted my lcd tv last week and after install the whole thing including
cable, i found out there is no picture come out when i play my bluray..

after adjusting the "duck brand" hdmi cable position then picture is coming..
this is due to cable is too close to the wall and the cable cant be bended too much..
try with my sony hdmi cable..no problem..

just sharing anyway  smile.gif

maybe those branded cables can't be bended too much as well =_="

No matter what brand, HDMI cable are not meant to be bend. If it is being bend at more than 70deg, then it would probably spoil in a very short span. It is fragile

Bestest brand for HDMI cables would be in my view simply, MOLEX, cheap, shielded and with good materials, you can't go wrong with them since they bloody wrote the standard for connections in HDMI. Around around 80 will get you a great interconnect from them.

Although finding them might be an issue since only electronics retailers carry them.

Actually, u guys can order thru' online from US, at www.monstercables.com, try these branded cables. I found most of the HT shops/SENQ/ got such HT cables of Monster Cables. Mostly very expensive! Damn Expensive! HDMI cable, 1M bout RM 1k++....I bought from their webpage, only USD 199/2M. Plus tax also very cheap!

Try out from Internet purchase....save you really much!

I fixed all Monster Cables for my HT System:

Amp : ONKYO TX-SR 805
DVD : PIONEER 410V
LCD : SHARP 42A85, FULL HD, 100Hz, 10 bit panel
SPEAKERS : JAMO C-SERIES 600 series
SUB : JAMO SUB300
SYSTEM : 5.1CH at the moment, planning to upgrade to 7.1 CH soon.

Fixing in my bedroom of bout 300 sqft, damn powerful sound.....whole bed shaking while putting the sub on full mission.

hehehe.....pls. comment if any.

Def:
HDMI = HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed DIGITAL data.

Digital = The word digital comes from the same source as the word digit. A digital system uses discrete (discontinuous) values, usually symbolized numerically (your "1 & 0"s) to represent information.

A cable is meant to carry information from once source to another. In the case of a HDMI cable, think of the information as a whole bunch of "1 & 0"s

A plain ol "1 & 0"... from one source to another, regardless of physical materials, be it basic cable or gold/diamond plated cable...if successful will still reach its destination as a "1 & 0". There simply is no better representation of "1 & 0"s...there is no gold-plated "1 & 0"s no matter how you think of it...

A good cable to me is one that can withstand physical stress (bending, pulling, sharp objects) without breaking. I don't understand any other scientific theory on how it can actually enhance data that is "1 & 0"s...

Analogue cables where fluctuations actually can affect the integrity of information....now thats a different story smile.gif

as for me..in term of picture quality, one can hardly see the different..
but the make of the cable itself maybe different..
the material and how they utilize their precision expert does matter..
and maybe the "high end" cable last longer because of that reason..

But me still tempting to buy that costly flat hdmi cable..
very suitable for wall mounted lcd tv smile.gif

Just to share with you all on the misunderstood topic on "HDMI price vs quality" and the controversial "HDMI is digital, either you get the signal or not".

Watch the video to understand:

http://www.monstercable.com/press/monstervision/

HDMI is digital, but it transmit using copper wires. Copper wire is analogue.

So, it's important that good quality built HDMI cable for better HD picture and sound experience.

how do i know whether those cheap RM3X for 2M HDMI cables (sold in plastic packaging in LYP) meet 1.3 spec? (assume no testing is done on that cable before i buy)
...or is it all HDMI cables nowadays in the market meet 1.3 spec?

Sorry but I have to call bullshit on this. Copper is a metallic element and is used in all cables - analogue OR digital (except optical cables).

you can pass a digital or analogue signal through any copper cable

be that as it may, the "1 & 0"s are represented by voltage - and THAT can be affected by EMF etc etc
