QUOTE ... at short lengths, in the vast majority of circumstances, all non-defective HDMI cables will perform equally well (and no, it doesn't matter what spec version it is); the signal is digital and the devices don't know whether they're hooked up with a four-dollar cable or something better or pricier. We spend a lot of time in these articles addressing the problems with HDMI, and in particular the problem of getting consistent performance at high resolutions over long distances, because many of our customers have installations that present that type of challenge. In those applications, cable quality can be a critical part of making your system perform well |

QUOTE(SiriuslyCold @ May 10 2009, 08:16 PM) Sorry but I have to call bullshit on this. Copper is a metallic element and is used in all cables - analogue OR digital (except optical cables). A ultra high purity copper cable works wonder albiet expensive. SiriuslyCold is right about it. you can pass a digital or analogue signal through any copper cable Silver is out of equation for most of us, average joe here |

You can't see much la if using short cable. Over let say 20ft distance then good quality HDMI cable count. All in all I don't care what others said. I like it I buy. I use QED HDMI all around. Very nice purple color

You need to make sure you set your DVD player to send the sound thru the HDMI. Default setting could have set it thru coaxial or optical.

I have a very short HDMI male cable which is just enough length to connect from my PS3 to my Samsung HDTV. My dad bought it for me in Singapore for.. about $20 I think. But it's really short. Like maybe 4/10 the length of your average phone charger wire length.
