Hi everyone,
I have in my possession W210 E200K, and the car is now having a gearbox problem. It's jerking, and most of the time when I drive, it won't even change to higher gear. I have to pull over, and restart the engine to rectify the problem. Well sometimes it rectified, and the car can change gear again, although it's very jerky, but most of the time, even after restarting, nothing will happen. The car will stuck at a lower gear...lol I had sent my car to Future Benzz in Sunway, and the mechanic recommend me to change the whole thing, and he quoted me RM7k. I would like to have second opinion from different mechanic. So I would like to ask for a favour from sifus here, to recommend me any good mechanic out there. I can travel far, but I prefer the workshop to be close to where I live. Oh I live in Subang Jaya btw.... Thank you very much! |

QUOTE(ALeUNe @ Mar 14 2016, 05:55 PM) I'd suggest you go take a look at BMW 328GT at BMW showroom and compare it with your 320. 320 and 118's cabins are puny. That's all I can tell you. QUOTE(xtracooljustin @ Mar 15 2016, 01:06 AM) don't so butthurt ALeUNe it is an open discussion not pin pointing u F34 vs F30 vs F31 ![]() as you can see the silhouette of the f34 and f31 has a higher roof line, this probably helps with the perception of space. i've always felt 3-series are snug (not cramped) with a sports car like cabin (lower roof/shorter chair to pedal distance) ![]() you can see from this comparison the f34 is higher than the f31, so i think i understand what u mean by space. however when talking about space/roominess i'd automatically think of merc's not bimmer's because merc's usually have the said two points of higher roof lines and longer distance from chair to pedal to give the feeling of roominess plus width (distance from door handle to door handle). i can agree with you f34 is much improvement over f30 and e90 in terms of space provided but to me it is 2/3 as i feel width wise it's not longer than f30/f31. i could be wrong as i'm basing all this on feel (and my body size) than actual manufacturers figures |

The cabin of 3 series GT is bigger than 5 series nonGT. It's much bigger than Mercedes C and E class saloon. If you don't believe it, go see it your self at the showroom. |

Haha new C-class 2016 CKD batch seems to have quite abit of issues and the aftersales/CS seems to be "standard" only resulting buyers getting fed up and need extra time to send back for warranty. New cars already get minor defects from bonnet clip, gearbox bracket issue etc etc. My 2015 1st CKD batch still okay so far luckily.

I read somewhere before that Mercedes used Renault engine for their smaller CC car. Will the new C180 be using Mercedes own engine or Renault engine?

I believe Renault engine is/was used in A and B class Mercedes only and usually diesel or petrol engine of 1.5L capacity only.

Hi All,
I hope this would be a good & fair forum for me to inquire about purchasing a merc. My brother currently has a 2nd hand W210 and is now thinking of a possible upgrade. Problem is he is a little fickle minded. So i am trying to help him out with the experts from here. His first thought is to get s W221 within the budget of 150K which hopefully can come with as many bells & whistle as it can like the media & sound system as well as the built in phone. So anyone know a good location to get 1 from? Also what should be the key things to look for to help ensure its a good buy. its been a lot of work trying to navigate around so much info related to this car yet not find the right answers The 2nd option my brother is toying with is to maybe get 2 cars - a W220 & W211. From what i have been reading (and i could be wrong) seems like the W220's airmatic is more of an issue as many ask questions on replacing it. Is it true that in the W220 this is a key pain point? Also how about the electronics? I also noticed there does not seem to be any S280L. Was the LWB only with the 320? On the W211 - what would be the key things to look out for? Btw the cabin space is smaller then the W210 right? or is it just me feeling so? Really hope to get some good insights from the sifus here. |

Hi All
A follow up question about pricing. With regards of getting the W221 checked before buying, a Hap Seng Star rep quoted approximately RM2K. This sound way to high considering that its only for checking and diagnostics. Anyone here can help validate this or provide a better recommendation? |

Hi everyone, new to this thread.
I am planning to get the GLE but could not decide on the 250d or the 400. Of course the 400 is more powerful and I do drive like a lunatic but comfort is what I desire most. Are both the cars exactly the same except for the engines (& price) or are there differences? |
