It's not Orthos (cpu+ram) stable at that vcore though. I didn't increase the vNB or vTT either. I'll tweak more in days to come !

By the way remember some of you complaining that there was a buzzing sound whenever you used your Dark? Was reading the guide made by FCG and realized this:
"PPM Function (Pulse Phase Modulation) acts to control CPU VCC power line noise by shifting resonant frequencies to alternate values. Unfortunately this can often adversely affect an overclock when dealing with higher bus speeds (FSB > 500MHz). Set to Disabled unless you have a good reason otherwise. " Now if you recall physics secondary school level, it's resonant frequencies that gives the buzzing sound. So it's ok to have that sound if you plan to OC past 500Mhz FSB like FCG said This post has been edited by almostthere: Jun 26 2007, 06:59 AM |

After reading many cooler reviews, I think I'm going to change from the planned Noctua UH-12F to the Tuniq Tower 120. Any Dark users here using this cooler ? Mobo clearance how ? Thanks.
p/s: How to open the SB ? I'm scared of plugging out the pins. I've already re-did the NB with AS5, at bootup, in the 25c airconned room, 17c ! edit: damn typos. This post has been edited by Eoma: Jun 28 2007, 03:44 PM |

OK let me be more specific. I get the Vcore and Vdimm setting in the BIOS obviously, but i'm blur about the other 4. How will VTT, NB and the 2 SB voltage affect my OC ? How do i know when to start to push them up ?

I don't suppose you can get one from LY Plaza ? My Chieftec BX is about 205mm according to the specs. Looks like justttt ngam ngam giving clearance of about 20mm. Although it would help tremendously if someone has the same casing and is using the Tuniq. |

Uhh ok now... i'm at 333x9 now, memory at 500, all voltages default. Looks ok.
Problem is when i try 400 or 500 FSB, something else came up preventing me from getting into windows. It's the SATA AHCI BIOS thing. Even when i enable it, it detects the devices than it just stuck there. Why when FSB is lower this thing didn't even came up ? Any ideas ? |

You're not the only one.The only way that i do to get pass through there is by increasing other voltages. Right now, i'm at 400x8 @ Stock Vcore [3.2GHz] Ram running at 800MHz @ 4-4-4-12 @ Stock Vdimm. What i did to get pass through there is by increasing the VNB [Nortbridge voltage] to 1.3Volts. [Stock voltage for NB is 1.25] |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Jun 29 2007, 02:03 AM) Hm no luck. I didn't change anything on the AHCI setting in the bios, so i don't know either i'm using it or not, so i don't care much. Edit: Curious, did you set the NB Strap to 266MHz or just let it be at default? It's NB Strap, it's not the FSB that you set. [It's in the same page that you use to change the FSB and everything else. This post has been edited by sHawTY: Jun 29 2007, 02:42 AM |

NB Strap at default or 266MHz makes no difference.
If i don't enable the AHCI it will just stuck there saying that the AHCI bios is not installed. This post has been edited by Joseph Hahn: Jun 29 2007, 04:50 AM |
