Maybe not engine on fire like Brundle said. He commented that no white smoke from exhaust thus maybe short circuit in electrical. Sounds logical. Usually engine condemn have white smoke.
*
Both RB they said had fuel flow issue. Not sure with Gasly though.

You missed a great back and forth duel between CL and MV after the first stop.

Actually great scraps up and down the grid. Not a procession like previous years. Zhou was impressive, not driving like a rookie.
*
Yup, seems like at least for now the new formula works a bit better for closer racing, but we'll have to wait and see a few more races.

Zhou was solid, didn't make a mistake. He just needs to bring up his raw speed to get closer to VB. But last year Yuki was good too in the first race only to mess up many times afterwards so we'll see if Zhou can be better.

To me aside from CL, the real star of the race was KMag, finishing best of the rest in 5th, what a great return after being dumped!

max rant power steering then car slowly dying, then perez no power and the car dead..not engine but more like electrical issue but still thats a good reminder from hamilton to his team reliability is so important. what he say hurt RB deep lol
*
RB said both cars got fuel pump issue while Gasly issue was MGUK ussue.

I wonder...

They even changed that part on Saturday night (seems like FIA released statement on this but not many sites reported it. Something to do with allowing teams to change this updated part which said to fix the fuel pump meter issue that encountered by some teams in testing). The fact that it only affect RB cars... so suspicious.
*
Should not be complicated to fix if really fuel pump. At least they got good speed unlike Mercs or worse, McLaren.

Few sources saying that RB is hiding its true reason behind the teams 2 DNF. It cannot be a fuel pump that caused both cars to fail in race.

If you watch the footage again you will notice that Perez immediately spun after engine cutout. Which is very weird.

QUOTE(voscar @ Mar 23 2022, 08:42 AM)
Got rumors both are running out of fuel, due to RB are way overweight, so they playing around with the fuel level, but this time miscalculated.
*
Hmm but the SP incident is indeed a bit strange cuz usually if running out of fuel, the car will just coast down but this one as if suddenly the engine and gearbox locked hence spun the car.

enjoy while it last  tongue.gif

there is a joke that people though mclaren have a genius design that their car dont porpoise but turn out they dont have the downforce to porpoise lol

so many rumors about RB but most are just rumors, non of us outside of rb will know
*
McLaren performance was equally shocking as Alfa and Haas. Their testing went relatively well so at worst I expected them still in midfield maybe right behind Mercs but they end up at the back, as if switching position with Alfa which actually had many issues during testing.

Ytd night and today morning saw reporting Red Bull has already identified the issue and they're satisfied with the fixes. And now they also have the upgrade for Jeddah:
https://racingnews365.com/red-bull-bring-fi...03vXVR-q422AzMM

But there is also report Ferrari have not running their engine at full potential at Bahrain. Game on Red Bull versus Ferrari
*
RB needs to strike back and have a strong result cuz they scored zero.

Ferrari needs to watch out for internal battle between CL vs CS if the car consistently has strong winning pace. If CS can beat CL this next race then game is on also between the 2.

Mercs may again pick up the pieces if anything happens up front.

Mercs also pretty confident they can get back to the front in the next few races so don't underestimate them especially since the season is very long.

Actually with the huge pace difference, I expect it's championship over for Mercedes. With lack of engine power and engine freeze, expecting them back to the 2010-2013 period. This is not surprise as every team have down seasons as well, Ferrari experienced the same 2020-2021 due to low engine power.
*
Maybe but Ferrari has a tendency to slow down in the 2nd half while Mercs especially LH are the opposite. At Mercs also I doubt GR can disturb LH too much while Ferrari might have an internal fight.

Personally I think Mercedes could sprung a surprise, depending on track. I think their race pace is pretty good, they just kinda suffer from 1 lap performance during qualifying. I feel Mercedes is having the most potential for massive gains compared to Ferrari or RB. If RB could get their car as stable as Ferrari, I think they could gain 2-3tenths.
*
Agree, never underestimate an 8 time champ. Ferrari and RB must capitalize as much as possible in the next few races to have some margin from Mercs fight back.

While Mercs don't seem to be bouncing much now. RB looks equally good like in last race.

Yeah it's been like that since forever. Based on regulation, Imola 94 also should not have proceeded after Roland's death but it did hence in a way cost Senna's life.

Mercs in trouble, seems even further behind than 1st race. Gonna be tight between RB vs Ferrari.
