I think it had been talked about somewhere else couldnt remember. If it isnt in the Xbox Talk then it should be in this thread or other 3 RoLs thread.

I would suggest you get back your console and send it over to somebody to perform the x-clamps replacement. I think bro Tot31 would be a good choice because he is the earliest in performing such kind of operation and likely to have the highest level of knowledge and experience.

Added on June 15, 2007, 9:46 pmlong time ago, when zaman xbox 1, i face this problem also, sent back my machine for repair to the shop i bought it, 1 month ++ and nothing fixed. Last i take back the machine and fix it myself. the problem actually is so simple, i accidentally switched my console to a pal system

The bad part is, the dvd drive is not functioning well after i took it back home

Erm.. actually your case is like this.. it shows error 0102 at first, which is before i remove anything from it. So i confirmed the error and did the normal x-clamps procedure, and now i am getting a E73 instead of a 0102....

So my theory is rather simple, your console actually has 2 problem with it which is the 0102 and the E73, but the console only indicate 3 lights instead of 1 light. Hence i was rather surprised that the green light didnt appear at the end of the operation and i get a 1 light in return

What i am doing now i shifting the difference in pressure while keeping the fan up to test if the 3 lights will appear again. But fortunately it didnt so my best bet is the mobo got damaged and only God knows the reason how it happened.

I will try to shift the pressure of the screws to see if i can get it fixed but i am starting to have doubts on it because i have been testing on it this whole day and until late night yesterday... *sorry Djinn, was so tired couldnt continue the conversation*

Will continue furthers test tomorrow, if it still cant be fixed, i guess the heatgun will be a likely solution to the E73, and this confirms that the E73 (Ethernet port error) couldnt be fixed via the x-clamps replacement.

I also did some research on the E73 and this error is very unlikely to happen and if it appears, either a X-Ray of the mobo is needed to detect the error or ... the heatgun which i dont have.

ok lah, i'll story you a bit.

I got hit by 3rod when trying to run a Sonic game demo. I just run the demo normaly, then artifacts all over the screen, then it freez.. i restart the system and still manage to enter the dashboard, run back the demo, freez again, and this time after booting.. there its blinking red with 3 lights, after that i never bother to open it again...

After 2 weeks, i rasa rajin. then try to boot it again.. still 3rod. After googling the net, find out the easiest solution which i can do myself and with a proper tools i opened the xbox, cleaned up the thermal paste and apply with new one. Close it back, boot up, and still.. 3 rod

heatgun I can buy anytime~ but I'm trying to search a reliable sources "branded". I don't want purchase a lousy brand then it exploded on my face when I do the heatgun.

X-Ray Machine ? I can't afford that machine la.. That one I think I have to go to factory and ask them for x-ray scan (if they let me try)

That's why not much people can afford to have a complete fix of the 360. I mean even if with the x-ray, it can only go so far as detection. Detect where the problem lies and that's it. After that, the treatment to fix it is still rather vague or almost impossible. Sad fact but its true.....


I resurrect you by fixing all the x-clamps cross on you lar. I have quite a number of those "blessed" crosses

Contrary to popular beliefs, there aren't many shops capable of doing x-clamp process. Imagined! It took tot or others for roughly 1/2 an hour to have x-clamp process done and a few hours for burn-in test. It doesn't took more than 1/2 a day. Yet some of this shops took more than that.

Tot's have saw a few of these "problems",...console owners who brought their consoles to him after those shop are unable to have them repaired. Regrettably even after he did the x-clamp process, most of them are not repairable due to shoddy works previously done by those shops.

1. One console out, coz the wire thread accidentally cut during x-clamp removal process.

2. Another due to burn nand chip...probably due to excessive heat from heat gun.

The main point is unless u sent those console back to the shops for warranty/console replacement, it's advisable to have them checked/repaired by tot or virgil. And for sauying or logic, before u picked up your console,...if they weren't able to have them repired, to have those console opened in front of you. Chances are it already screwed.

well..sigh..i have no idea how to handle this situation to be honest, i just bought it less than a week...dont let them fix for me? or loose out letting them damage my only less than 1 week machine?

That's Malaysian attitude for you. Wanna be in the computer games business but can't even pickup a keyboard and mouse to do some research and reading.

Actually i faces similar problem. With post x-clamps console or post-fix (whatever method), the console seems to be less responsive to the secondary fix, which is why i came out with a suggestion to all those who have got 3ROL to not to open up the console once the 3 lights appear. Well, you can try plug/unplug all cables just to make sure but the best is try not to open up and check if anything is wrong inside.

And if you wanna perform the operation, please do so after reading the pinned tutorial carefully, and if needed, feel free to ask me, or Djinn or Tot about anything at all. We will be more than glad to provide you with the advice needed.
