Thanks to Djinn, my 360 is alive again for the 2nd time. Only problem this time is, my 360 sounds like a vacuum cleaner when its turned on. I guess he must have replaced the fans. tongue.gif No matter what i must finish Bioshock before it dies again.

welcome to my lifes doh.gif

my 360 keep getting 3rod, cooked the CPU/GPU, runs fine for few hours, then 3rod again... then repeats the steps again...

while googling around, i found this news article:
Fragile Part of Xbox 360?
QUOTE
In only five minutes since we started playing the game, the temperature of the heat sink on the graphics LSI rose to 70°C. The thermal gradient was about 10°C/min.

In 15 minutes, the microprocessor heat sink temperature stabilized at 58°C, but the heat sink on the graphics LSI rose to 80°C, 57°C above the room temperature.

Assuming room temperature of 35°C in mid-summer, the gap is estimated to reach more than 90°C. In that case, the temperature of chips in the graphics LSI could exceed 100°C.
my gawd! we been running our 360 at around 100°C all this times!! shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif

is there any heatsink that can be used to replace the stock GPU heatsink? getting tired of the overheat problem..

I opened up the dead xbox yesterday, reclean an reapplied the thermal paste, added a fan directly blowing air out of the GPU heat sink and voila!....it's alive again....

But I have no doubts it will die again.

Now I leave the unit exposed without the top casing and the DVD-ROM is pushed to the front since the fan is in the way. .

Now I need to do something about the DVD Drive.
I wonder if there's the Xbox360 external HD DVD casing sold anywhere. The size of the HD DVD drive and the xbox360's dvd drive is the same.

cannot, or atleast without modding.
I think I'll make a cover myself out of cardboard.
