Well, still i wont believe what they are saying. And the people who first fixed your console and to fix it again, that would be like 1000x harder to fix. Why? Because getting another 3ROD means that your GPU chip is near the end. I already have a few cases where post-fix consoles couldnt be revived using the x-clamps replacement method.

Sad to say, even if there is a chip that can control the 360 fan speed, i find it rather useless to make it blow louder.... cause most probably the first fix was a failure, it only last for a while and this give enough strain to the chips to kill it.

Hi guys,

Got a new replacement set (due to 3ROD) recently. Just wondering is it recommended to get x-clamp fix as preventive measure before 3ROD happens? Or wait till it happens then only send in for "operation"?

Its still not too late provided you dont try to cheesyly open up the casing and play with the chips inside it.

My 360 is finally acting up. Whenever I try to play Live Arcade games, the game will play for 15 seconds and then will freeze. Sometimes I reboot the console, and the console doesn't get pass the splash screen. First time it happened, I rebooted and saw an E71 error (I think) but I haven't seen it again since. Is this repairable? I'm so sad.

Could you have mistaken it for an E74 error instead of a E71?

Do confirm because both are different errors and it decides in whether your console can still be fixed or not.

And from what you said pass the splash screen, issit white thick lines or it just hang.

E71: possibly a dashboard update error, Check below in the "Console Reset Codes" for instructions. If that does not work there is no other solution and the console must be sent back to MS for repair.

I'm pretty sure it was E71. But it can't be a dashboard update, because there hasn't been any recently right? This only started happening on the weekend.

Sometimes I reboot the splashscreen just hangs. You just see a bit of the 360 logo and that's it. But then I can usually reboot again. So I am able to get into the dashboard... just playing games is a problem. I want to play Pac-Man CE.

Well, frequent freezes is definitely one of the symptoms of the upcoming 3ROL but its rather vague as the freezes izzit almost everytime you play that game? Or other games freezes as well?

dont claim anythin..just x-clamp it...told u to do long time agoooo....the replacement chipset is a total BULLshit.....

okay..i wonder..is diz apply to malaysia stock[taken from singapore stock] xbox or not?

if the shop can add a new chipset then that shop can starts production on making xbox360 with the logo Made in Malaysia!

dont pay lah if a shop ever tells you that got this and that chipset... all BS only!

Yesterday i called the boss, he told me he modify the circuit which make the dual fan move faster,blow more HOT WIND !!! (BS) !!!! (b4 that he told me he use new CHIPSET,WTF)
In the end, i tell him i don want the console anymore and return cash to me, or sell to other people. I want the $$$ back ...
Guys, how much can i claim from me if i return 360 to him ... because he didn't told me what method he use to repair my 360 ...

i bought my 360 on 31.12.2006, 3ROD on January, repair ok around april, rosak around May,Repair until today (but ok liao....)

First of all, there is no idea what the shop has done to get your console working unless you get more details from him. But if the repair is done on the shop, there is a high chance that they will just use the heatgun method to "temporarily" repair it. Well, the risk here is that your console is working from April until May, so in the process, your chip might have suffer a lot of stress due from the first fix.

Anyway, since you have already sent it back to the shop for the 2nd fix, i guess you have no choice to pay them to get your console back and since its already working.

A lesson for all, if you cant get a 1 to 1 exchange, go for the x-clamps replacement method right away. No point sending it back to the shop for the so-called "repairs" they do. God knows what they have done to the console...

I think that shop is rather unethical. Maybe they are selling it as a new console to other buyers eh

Don't need to be subtle about it, just tell us the name of this gameshop that sells fan-controller-chipsets.
