Is it me or the new Honda Civic paint is very thin and soft. Gotten my car for less than a month and have been getting a lot stone chips.

Is it common? By the way, I’ve been speeding around 120-160 almost everyday at highway. Anyway to prevent?
*
difficult to prevent especially if you are travelling on highway with high speed. one way is to apply PPF but is very costly

Any recommend for LED? I just bought one the fan(I think) kinda noisy.. Is it all the same?
*
if fan type is noisy, then you should buy the heat sink type, no sound.

but always try first as some LED will cause interference to your radio.

True. Does it mean you also get a lot stone chips on your Civic too?

Do you use Ezy touch up to cover it or installed ppf?
*
I dont have much stone chips, but everytime I travel outstation, I tend to find few more. some can be waxed off, some cannot.

did not do the ppf because too costly, more expensive than a paint job
and didnt do ezy touch up as i think it would be very ugly to see small dots of paint here and there.

Hi guys.
I am a new owner of Civic 1.8S 2018.

Wanna ask about The HDMI port on it.

I manage to get the android auto to work.

Any of you lads out there know how does the HDMI work and what cable work best?
*
I bought a HDMI dongle (wireless) that can be connected to my phone and it works to mirror whatever on your phone to the head unit.

bought, installed but never use it. just know it is there and if want can use. haha

Brand , price and where?
*
can get from any shop la. I dont recall the brand oledi

price is about 100

it is connected to HDMI jack, and another cable to connect to USB for power
you then connect thru to your handphone, and access it thru wifi
your head unit will mirror exactly the same screen as your phone

Actually I dont use it much, might let go if u interested

i bought my first car by trading my dad 7 years old City and bought the 1.8s. My insurance is RM3.3k without road tax etc.

Generally a few factor come to car insurance.
1. Age (Older you are, slightly cheaper it is)
2. Car Model (As we know The more BHP the car has, the higher the insurance)
3. Bank (Depend what bank you uses the most. Different Bank has different interest rate and different bank has different strictness when comes to approve the loan )
4. Insurance Package (Depend what package you took. I took windscreen insurance as i'm on the road 80%)

PS. SA only be able to answer your question once your loan has been approved. They only be able to give you a preliminary insurance cost
*
correction

too old also premium will be more expensive
it is based on cc, not BHP
bank and insurance is not related

I saw the review on new India Civic 2019 the host said the car is raised by an extra 20mm from the old ground clearance.

it is compared to the earlier version of civic, not FC.

India only got the fc this year

Just checking if anyone has this light refracting issue on their rear windscreen tint ? Seems to be a fairly common issue. Though I just tinted my car yesterday only, so may take some time to cure. Photo below is from someone and looks pretty bad.

Just did 2nd service today for civic1.8s, 10k/6 month, but I only had 6k mileage.

They set the 3rd service 1 year from the date of car collection, and not 6 months from the last service.

Susah lo.. i think when I reach 1 year (3rd service) will be servicing for 20k km but actual mileage just 12k  km..  Feel that this is a waste of the engine oil and other parts.. replacing before they are due.  Gap will keep getting bigger n bigger..  and the SA told me many others also face the same dilemma.. but what to do... Honda's rules.

I asked if they could be more flexible, but no way.  bangwall.gif

What I could cross out from the bill is Tyre alignment/balancing and swap, to which the SA say these are wear n tear items, not warrantied anyway.
*
the rule is 10k or 6 months, whichever comes first.
