Can get some opinions on the LED lids (Not Eagle eyes)

Yay or nay

Not bad.

Btw eagle eye Civic Sequential LED headlights now promo 2499-500=RM1999.00.

Quite tempting to change for only RM2k. rclxms.gif

Guys, have u encountered problem with your alarm system where it goes off suddenly without anyone or anything moving/shaking your car?

Mine sometimes kena, and everytime it happened, i notice the vehicle tilt sensor switch blinking. Sensor problem?
*
Mine 2016 TC also have the same problem on tilt sensor. Usually happened on same place with high frequency Satellite/ TNB station etc nearby. Alarm goes off when raining. No rain no problem. blink.gif Usually i just off the tilt sensor when sky is dark.

Complained to SC before. They said Honda sensor is sensitive. Is normal and said few cars alarm in Honda SC compound also will go off if heavy rain/thunder.

When car take longer time to start is that mean car battery is low? It just like when I start the car... will have the start sound but longer as it trying to start. This is the second time have it... not even 10km service.

Meanwhile I do heard some said, don't start directly as will damage the car battery? Recommended to press without stepping brake then only press again with brake to start.
*
I don't think so. I changed my first battery after 1 yr 2 months. The day before the car start like normal..everything normal. Next Morning, difficult to start and error message out at the screen.. straight drive to Honda to replace. Anyway you can check your battery indicator.. blue still ok.

If civic battery last about 1-1.5 years is better to change battery like Amaron which come with 18months battery and only RM 220 vs Panasonic from Honda 1 yr warranty almost RM 300. Amaron good review & a better quality battery vs brand like Century. They are able to come to your house to change in 30mins and get it done in 5mins.

of course its more spacious. the civic is a bigger car. in fact the civic's leg room and luggage space is the biggest for C segment car if i am not wrong. heck the luggage space is even bigger than the D-segment honda accord  smile.gif
*
Ive driven 2015 city few times on highway, Not only space, civic is much more planted and solid on high speed, better handling & more fun to drive. More premium interior & better materials.

If within budget, should go for the turbo, the power is always there when you need it. city overtaking, not even need to go above 2k rpm, Up Genting, no need to go above 3k rpm. biggrin.gif

is there any possible new model/facelift civic upcoming?

not sure to go for current model which is kinda old or wait for new one.

http://autobuzz.my/2018/08/14/honda-civic-...s-all-variants/

Civic Facelift 2019 is launching soon in US. I believe can only reach Malaysia earliest 2nd half of 2019.

TCP should come with Honda Sensing or may be std for all variants

But to me. i think the current civic front design is nicer than the facelift.. facelift front looks a bit cacat biggrin.gif

*
Easiest is install Locktech pedal lock.. cheapest solution. Now i'm less worry whenever i park my car.. biggrin.gif

Now mc5 move up to mc6 d, performance wise I can say mc5 is ok, as per uhp . For performance, if have the money, PS4 is better.

Noise and harshness (nvm) is not a good area uhp tyres are good at. You want nvh, primacy4, turanza t001, yokohama dB or contipremium is the way to go.

Fuel economy is better if you go for tyres with less resistance, meaning not using UHP tyres as they have more grip.

Depends on whether u fly 180km/h everyday and go up Genting or you only an a to b guy in selangor with jam everyday.
*
I don't think MC5 is categorized under UHP tyres. Been using the new MC6 for past 2 weeks. I would say it is miles better than MC5. Better grip/handling dry/wet & comfort than MC6. Highly recommended! Bought 215/50/17 for RM 345. thumbsup.gif

Those who think that Michelin PS4 RM 500+ too expensive, can consider this. MC6 has totally different thread pattern & compound vs MC5. Designed for Asian road, the Adaptive Grip Compound tech is really effective in absorbing uneven bad roads .. can really feel the different. I think this should be the most comfortable UHP tyre available now & it performs like a UHP. Oh ya.. on smooth surface it is extremely quiet ..

I drive rather aggressively on my TC sometimes, i would say MC5 is rather lousy. tyres often scream. MC6 so far i don feel that .. J

Just my sharing biggrin.gif Yeah Hankook V12 2 is a good choice too.. many good reviews.

Ya but the weird thing is.. when you read the forum and car comments section. Many will say why buy civic,? Elantra T is much more powerful 200+HP, DCT gearbox way better than CVT, sportier design without crab claw, and handles better than Civic, Honda QC & service is terrible.... etc...

But in reality hardly see one Elantra on the road. doh.gif weird...

Good day all car sifu. Is it just me @ everyone noticed that the original headlamp that comes with 1.5 TC seems dim? I counter checked with a few people at night outside the car with the engine on & came to the conclusion. Any recommendations which light bulb to change to? Thanks in advance.
*
Im using Philips Crystal Vision 4300k. Much better than original. Whiter light but still a bit yellowish vs DRL. About RM 180.

If change to LED, look nicer. pure white. But at night when raining is harder to see compared to original yellowish bulb.

So 1 pair same halogen 4300k cost 180 with installation...will 5500 or 6000 more close to white?
*
Yes. 5000k is consider pure/natural white light & matching the DRL. 6000k is pure white light with a bit of blue.

Original halogen bulb = 2700k.

Hi guys, need some opinion on tyres for my 2years old 1.8 NA Civic.

Due to a bad puncture outstation (and rolling damage to the other tyre), have to change a pair of my stock MC5 to CC6 about 15km drive ago, on the front side.  Now that I'm approaching 80k mileage, am looking to change the remaining 2 old MC5s.

The problem is I don't think CC6 is as good as the old MC5 (not sure if it is psychology as CC range is < MC range) and due to one incident in the rain near Seremban where it just veered to the middle of the next lane despite the traction control kicking in when driving around 110 in moderate rain.

Now what is the best way to go about it?  Am thinking of keeping the CC6 in the back and get a pair of MC6 or PS for the front, but worried about even worse handling.

Any advise?  Cheers
*
Wow.. means your MC5 lasted for almost 80k km? That is really really long lasting.

Since your CC6 already 65k , you should change all 4 tyres. Changing just 2 tyres will not improved the handling.

CC6 is just entry comfort tyres from Continental & should always drive slower on wet surfaces . Its not a grippy tires.

CC6<UC6<MC6.

* Government will subsidise RON 95 petrol for those with cars with the engine capacity of 1,500cc, and under, and those with motorcycles with engine capacity of 125cc and under.

Budget 2019... Bad news for 1.8 owners

dont simply park road side lo

Ya i think mostly happen after midnight especially cars park outside road side. They just need 5-10mins, all tyres gone.

Plus Civic now no longer have tilt sensor, no way alarm will activate.

Those staying in condo and park inside.. should be much safer... hmm.gif

Offcourse have. Alarm without sound is useless.. lol. If you are driving 2016-2017 civic with ultrasonic & tilt sensor. Just lock yourself inside your car and move.. alarm will trigger with motion movement inside.

My alarm goes off everytime on rainy day even when there is no loud thunder.
Anything wrong with it ?
*
SC said nothing wrong, Honda tilt sensor more sensitive. biggrin.gif Thats why they removed it... They more you complain the more they remove.. lol
I believe is because of some interference in certain area.
My car alarm goes off on rainy days whenever i park outside my office even without thunder. But never happen in my condo compound or any other areas no matter how heavy rain/loud thunder.
So everytime ill disable the tilt sensor when i park outside my office.. unless is a sunny hot day. biggrin.gif

The rule by JPJ > “The rules on vehicle headlights are very clear. Any lights that are fitted on later (retrofitted), lights that differ from the original ones that came with the vehicle, they’re illegal. If it follows the specifications of the manufacturer, no problem,” he said, adding that in the UN Regulations 48 (UNR48), main headlamps can use bulbs with the maximum colour temperature of 4,300 K"

“For instance, UNECE R48 states that a vehicle’s headlamps can only have maximum brightness intensity of 4,300K, but HID headlamps rated up to 16,000K are available on the market. Those found guilty can be charged and fined a maximum of RM2,000 or jail of not more than six months,”.

Anything below 4300k is 100% safe. Above that, is to see whether JPJ wants to summon or close 1 eye. biggrin.gif and also how good is their knowledge about the original headlights for each car model.

I think when come to Malaysia, the Honda Sensing will only be available for TCP model. like the RS Model in Thailand.

Meaning we can expect the facelift here in Malaysia in next 2-3 months rclxm9.gif

With the new facelift already unleashed in Thailand, anybody have idea when is it coming to Malaysia?

is it worth it to buy now (december) or wait a while?
*
If you are getting the 1.8 or the 1.5TC with good discounts, i think is ok to proceed.

But if you are getting the 1.5TCP, i think is worth to wait for the facelift. 1.5TCP definitely will come with Honda Sensing.. How about if they include the Honda Sensing & maintain the price for TCP? hmm.gif
