Hi ,
Wanna ask .
Can replacing the stock bulbs (low beam) with Night Breaker or Philips Crystal Vision consider an upgrade in term of brightness?
Cause lumen wise , stock bulb is 1350.
NB is also 1350 lumen while Crystal V is 900lumens. Can anyone advise ? thx
*
I'm using Crystal Vision for > 2 years now. definitely perform better than the stock bulb. More lights & clearer..

Upgrade for sure.. One cost RM 160+ vs stock < RM 20 lol

Thx bro . Is it noticeable brighter?
*
Yes. More light & brighter. May be also due to whiter color 4300k. slightly more yellowish than DRL only.

Ori bulb very yelow so looks very dim.

I've had my new Civic TCP for about a month now, clocked in around 800km. Lots of city driving, including in heavy traffic. But fuel consumption is uncharacteristicly bad, when I go by the table below that was sent to me my an SA.

For comparison, my HRV's fuel consumption is quite consistent with the table. About 11 to 12km/l. My civic is currently at 11km/l.

Any idea what's up?
*
Wow your SA so desperate to get sales until prepare such fake table. CR-V 2.0 highway > 31km/l? Even Honda city 31km/l is also impossible. lol

Civic TC is impossible to get 17.7km/l on city drive. On highway 110kmh I can achieve 18-20km/l, but in KL everyday bumper to bumper jam, i got only 8km+/l. So your TCP at 11km/l mostly city drive is very normal.

anyone using MC6?
*
Im using MC6 215/50/17 (2 front tyres).. changed in Sept18 for RM 345 each (Including installation & Balancing)

Overall is a better tyres vs MC5 in every aspect. Although Conti claimed is go against the PS4.. but i doubt the MC6 can perform better than PS4..

Wanted to change P4 but price diff really too huge.. RM 500 vs RM 345.. lol.. but so far satisfied with the MC6 biggrin.gif

Just went to see the new Proton X70, the fit and finish vs our civic, really way way better. No uneven gap and also the welding done up nicely. The car is so solid and well build. Honda CKD should improve on this..Even is a Proton, with RM 100k, anytime ill choose X70 over base HRV.
This X70 will be the new benchmark to follow especially Honda/Toyota/Nissan.

So today something weird happened. I released parking brake and the brake pedal so the car cruises forward at a low speed from my parking spot as usual, then suddenly there was a huge sound like clock clock, felt like it was the tires so I went out to check, wasn’t it, all was fine. Then I went into the car again and moved forward and heard it again then I kept moving anyway, and when coming to a junction and I had to brake, there was a soft clock clock sound as if from the tires, again went out to check nothing was wrong with tires.

After driving around a bit everything appears to be fine now.

Anyone had this issue before? Now I’m scared
*
Happened after you wash your car and parked outside under hot sun for few hours? Happened to me few times after wash the car and park under hot sun. next day the tire like glue to the tarmac. The car wont move even i released the parking brake & put in D. i press the pedal more to move the car and a loud klong sound and the car move .. subsequently there will be kluck kluck sound from suspension/tyre when the car moving forward. and the sound disappear after 1-2 mins. Got a shock too but everything seems ok.

Now I will test especially after washing & sunny day. If the car cant move with D. means stick again. I will put D shift to R then D slowly to unstick the tyres. then only drive. instead of stepping the pedal to add more power to move the car. Loud Klong will happen again. I believe this will have damage on the suspension.

Not sure yours the same case. Dont worry, mine happened few times. car already 2.5 years.. suspension still good. biggrin.gif

This never happened to my previous H.City. weird.

is it possible that its due to rust from the brake disc? it does make it hard to get the car moving first... subsequently should be normal...
*
Yeah.. possible is the brake disc. shouldnt be the tyres. but so far nobody have this issue .. only me.. bangwall.gif

The trick to eliminate static electricity

BEFORE you come out from the car, open car door and touch on metal of the door to discharge (do not step out of the car before discharging)

Using the above trick, they will not be any ‘spark’.

No more nasty sparks for me
*
wow.. Thanks for your trick. Will do the same next time flex.gif

Hi All Sifu here, just a sharing from my end.

I just bought my Honda Civic 1.5 TC on mid november 2018.
Sad news is, my car was stolen last week when I was parking by the roadside in Bukit Jalil.
There are more than 100 cars are parking there but they handpicked my car.

I integrated my TnG to TnG wallet and the theft drove my car straight away to Kempas Johor.

Reported police and submitted to insurance case. and I also heard from other Civic owners that they are quite scared as quite a number of cases happening now.
*
Sorry to hear that. Did your car install additional safety device like steering lock/ pedal lock/ GPS tracking?

Really many cases recently. Even my boss friend New Alphard 3.5 got stolen parked nearby my office.

After i installed pedal lock & Lock nut, i feel less worry now. I believe high demand/resale value car the target now.. especially keyless entry.. even easier to steal .. just walk in and drive away with your key signal.

Guys,

Any of you encounter aircond problems? I read there's a member here complaint on the aircond hissing sound.

Anyway, am asking whether your aircond is still as cold as the first day? Reason I'm asking is because I believe I'm having a minor (and may turn to major) air cond problem. I didn't know about this problem until I drove my wife's car a couple of weeks ago during the weekend. Parked under hot sun for less than 40 mins and when I entered and drove off, the aircond is somewhat blowing hot air for at least a good 5-7 mins. Then it gradually became cooler (not cold) until perhaps a good 20-30 mins, only then the aircond became cold.

Of course my wife wouldn't realise this as a problem as I don't think female are as sensitive as male (err... don't judge me for stereotyping tongue.gif). Anyway, made an appointment with Honda today to check the air conditioning system. I suspect it's the compressor. Reason being the above and today I notice that it gave a slight humming sound when it's operating.

If so, it would be pretty sad to see a less than 2 year old car having a somewhat compressor failure.

Will update the outcome in the coming days.
*
I think the first batch affected with the aircond issues. Few members here already changed their compressor set. Mine changed compressor in 1.5 yrs. same problem. no cold air from aircond especially traffic jam. and is getting worst from week to week..No worries. under warranty. Just replace biggrin.gif

What I personally feel is that the car will start to accelerate when I step on it, but when I’m almost flooring it, it feels like the power is cut out entirely and the car will just stutter. Thus whenever I feel this, I will naturally lift my foot off as I fear I might damage some components.

I’ve never tried it with S mode or S mode + econ off as I’m usually stuck in city traffic so I’ll seldom have clear roads to blaze past.

Anyways, any ideas whether there is a noticeable difference in FC with econ on & off?
*
Actually is not much diff on Econ on & off if drive without hard acceleration. People get Civic turbo to enjoy the power. Why you need pay extra > 21k over the 1.8 model and set to econ and drive like a 1.5 N/A car limiting the power? Really defeat the purpose of having a more powerful 1.5 turbo. Btw how much you can save on petrol? Petrol in malaysia is considered cheap. Save RM 3 a month using econ? hmm.gif biggrin.gif Just my opinion. Don angry ya wink.gif

Went to did my 20k service... then they checked that my battery left 79% which is require to change. Hmmm any recommended battery for 1.8?

Amaron battery good review with 18 months warranty vs Stock Panasonic 12 months.

My TC changed once @ Honda Panasonic @ RM295 (with labor).

U can call https://www.vinbattery.com/ they will come and install at your place (even weekend or at night)

I think Amaron for Civic about RM 220+ only.
