I hope is it not too late to share this information with FC owners here.

After my car was fitted in the front and rear dashcam, at the car accessories shop, the FM radio signal became very bad. Only can listen to a few channels.
Recently, I decided to diagnose the problem. I noticed that when my car is in accessory mode, the radio signal is perfect. When I start the engine, the radio signal becomes bad again. After a few examinations, I ruled out LED bulbs (High, Low beam, fog lamp) causing the problem.

I went on to check the fuse extender connect with a 12v USB car charger that powered my dashcams, installed by the car accessories shop.
The USB charger was provided by me (wanted to save money, and I have a few spare).
The shop just help me to connect the charger to the fuse box using a kit. Refer to the picture below.
user posted image

The USB charger has 2 USB ports. As soon as I disconnected 1 of the USB cable. The radio signal interference become must less. If I disconnected both USB cables.
The interference is completely gone. So I have found the root cause. To try to solve it, I replace the problematic charger with a few spare car chargers that I have.
I noticed different brands/quality/prices of chargers produce different results.

Below are the ranking according to the interference produced by my chargers:

No interference:
- Anker (1 USB-A, 1 USB-C ) . The USB-A didn't produce interference. not sure about USB-C  thumbup.gif
- No brand (1 USB-A). The power is not stable, dashcam keeps on turning on and off wacko.gif

Little interference:
- ROCK (1 USB-A)  thumbsup.gif
- No brand (2 USB-A). When connect with 2 USBs, full of interference wacko.gif

A lot of interference:
- LDNIO (2 USB-A) bangwall.gif
- 70mai (1 USB-A). Comes with my dashcam bangwall.gif
- No brand (2 USB-A) bangwall.gif

In the end, I use the ROCK charger connected with a fuse extender to power my rear dashcam. The front dashcam I reroute it to the left-hand side through A piller then go down to the glove box and connect to the Anker charger which is plugged into the cigarette socket.
The reason I don't connect the Anker charger with the fuse extender is that it is fast charging and supports PD. Is a waste for it to power just the rear dash cam.
Although now still have a little interference, it is very acceptable. Compare to before, I totally cannot listen to 88.1, is all white noise. Now I can listen to it clearly and occasionally some white noise, depending on location.

Note: My fuse extender is connected to fuse #3. This fuse only will have power when the engine is started. To find out where is fuse #3, please refer to the fuse box label next to the fuse box or refer to your owner's manual book.

If you want to buy a new charger to replace the existing one, I advise you to buy a quality one. It may cost more, but I believe it will give fewer problems. There is a saying buy cheap, buy twice.

I hope my experience is able to help someone who is also facing FM radio signal interference.

Reminder: For safety reasons, always turn off your car engine before you touch any wires or the fuse box to avoid accidentally frying your car's electronic components or even your fingers. If you have no experience in DIY your car, I recommend you bring your car to a car accessories shop and explain the situation to them, pay them to do the job for you.

What's the reason u don't consider using hard wire? I route it myself & lots of tutorial on it on YouTube if u are good at DIY

Considering 2nd.hand FC, but this steering rack issue is a turn-off, scary on the cost of replacement.
Are outside workshops able to refurbish this steering rack instead of changing new one?
After changing to a new one, does the problem still come back after certain mileage of usage?

Hi everyone, I want to ask if there's any hope to fix this dent on the bumper like below?

Scratches optional, just wanna get the shape back first.
Terkena in some narrow spiral parking i think...

Did casually asked Honda, they say can't fix because its plastic.

Outside should be able to heat and hammer back out from the inside of the bumper, and patch the surface with clay then respray. You will see the difference in paint surface abit but since its at the bottom, it should pass your eye on normal days...

Should only cost around RM500 or less for this kind of paint job outside. I had a similiar accident where a motor skidded and fell, hitting the bottom rear bumper of my car... patch job done outside for rm300, but the motorcyclist went to report police and claimed my insurance for body injury... 55% NCD gone terus cry.gif

Thanks, will try the heat and hammer back method. The dent more annoying to my eye more than the scratch lol.

Also, RIP your NCD shocking.gif

I did mine for rm100. Foreman use heat gun and push out the dented bumper. According to him, if don't want to repaint then safer to heat from inside otherwise, will damage the paint if overheat.

I have this exactly dent like this
self do by just having an electric kettle and pout hot water on it while pushing it out from the inside

you need to remove the bottom cover, Plastic one is enough
but I would say better leave it to workshop

as not tightening properly the screw will makes it loose and you will lose them

plus there is 3 plastic clips that will for sure breaks when you try to remove them

heat gun is dangerous

boiled water is safer, as the temp maxed out at 100deg

Give you RM150 discount, but markup the engine oil, oil filter, and drain plug.
Worth it?

Thinking of servicing my 5 year old out of warranty civic TCP outside too. Anything I should take note of besides following the service schedule list from Honda for the oil and other part change?

Plan to get the parts from Hingan Pudu and visit my regular mechanic for my old cars at home. But since this mechanic is those who only fix what is broken, do you guys know what are the frequent items which needs to be inspected regularly such as brake lubricating I see done by honda every service?

Normally I will also fix anything which seemed abnormal, eg weird vibration, noise, etc.
But I'd recommend that if need to replace major parts such as steering racks, alternators, ac compressors, etc. Better just let your trusted mechanic to order them and earn some money.
Reason is some of these original parts are not original at all. Comes with original boxes, 1:1 comparison when placed next to the original, but once installed, they will fail very quickily and since you bought it, then you need to settle the warranty yourself and pay the installation fees again. End up waste time and money.

First time serviced my civic outside after finish warranty. bought my parts from hingan. not so cheap but reasonable pricing and peace of mind cause confirm ori. just need to find a trust worthy shop just to pay labour to service or change parts. i desided to service outside cause dont plan to sell the car and got long term plan to use it. dont see the need to service at honda. SC did send messages to service and discounts with them. if u planning to sell soon recommend to continue with SC so that ur service history is recorded with honda malaysia and should have a impact later for resale.

Agree with you, for major part change i would pay vmax motorsport a visit as I work nearby them... am also thinking to service my car there actually during lunch time if I can manage...

Seems like many /k recommend this place for out of warranty honda.
