Before that do note that there are 2 kinds of 70mai TPMS, mainly know as 70mai TPMS lite(external sensors) & 70mai TPMS(external), the ones you'll widely see in shopee or lazada are the external one, the one i've installed is the internal ones.

For internal sensor like mine, installing will be more troublesome as you need to actually go to tyre workshop; best let professional do it (I don't recommend those DIY installation videos in youtube, do it at your own risk). But in return it's all worth it... read on.

I got mine from shopee locally for RM250 which is average price shipping not included. 3 days later, and i received mine:

first thing i did is removing the sticker from the valve stem and relocate it, if you intent to install the TPMS as it is, i do relocate the stickers as once the valve stem is tighten into the wheels removing the sticker will be troublesome. Then you'll need to first charge display unit itself, then at the same time you can download the app
i'm using android so i went playstore to get it.

well i do not like those, it felt very cheap and the color, is a big no no for me. Definitely does not match our stock tyre, especially mine. Well good news, these items replaceable and are available in shopee, just go look for nicer valve stem, example rays valve stem those are fairly cheap. Do note that you won't be able to replace the whole valve stem, just the valve cap and valve nuts, the valve core i can't find any matching replacement. (refer to the previous diagram i drew)

so all set and I let tyre workshop tauke to install.

Part II
Installation:
Well i have not taken any photos during the actual installation as i wasn't expecting to post any installation guide but installation is fairly easy for the workshop guys at least. Here's a shot taken from the manual

as shown, it is obvious that the tyre has to come off first what comes next is straight forward. Unscrew the valve nuts and valve cap, stick the core into the rim and tighten back the valve nuts. As mentioned in previous post i've swap the valve nuts and caps into dark chromes ones.

When hand over the 70mai sensors for installation, do remind the installer about the orientation of each sensors, which indicates in yellow stickers: Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, Rear Right. If following what has been indicated therefore no further calibration is require for installation, if some how the placement has been done incorrectly, fraid not you can still perform 'swap' it using the 70mai app.

While waiting you can pair you device into the 70mai app. If this is your first 70mai devices, you will need to sign-up and sign into the app.

i guess these pictures represent the steps pretty clear.

The TPMS display unit is also the transmitter to your app connect via bluetooth, it needs to be charged before hand. Normally when you first received the package the unit has 0 power, just connect the micro-usb into the device and charge it before installation. The unit is also solar powered fyi, should continue to be powered-up as long you placed it under well lighten area. The device has auto wake up function as long as there's slight vibration the display will wake up, and goes back to sleep after couple of minutes.


Here's a screen cap. during my setup. You can see the reading as soon as air pressure is detected. Some might take couple of seconds up to a minute to update the readings.


Okay with everything installed as well as WAB job's done. End result looks like the above, nicely unnoticeable(ya after the installation the rim become dirty ).

The display unit is designed to put at the dashboard, 3m adhesive is present at the bottom of the unit. But guessed what, i believe none of us are willing to permanently glueing it into the dash .

Let's have a look at the display performance.

Evening and bright daylight drive.

(note: in real life the display reading looks brighter)
The display UI layout and color is pretty nice for a solar powered capable display but it's brightness isn't going to cut it on normal daylight. Well the picture taken looked worst, i can still see the readings on daylight but it's not exactly easy to read.

So i tried another placement, at the console panel, well does help with the display but definitely not ideal placement.


The marked area is obscure by the 70mai display on normal sitting position, unless we sit like bus driver otherwise... so i don't like to place it there either.

So what do i do with mine? I just put it dashboard when parked, check the reading when enter the car and chuck the display into our phone compartment and drive, just rely on the low pressure warning as i don't have to stare at the reading all the time.

In conclusion, why i choose 70mai internal TPMS

Pros
One of the cheapest ones compare to the market, nearly half price compare to others. Example steel mate.
Sustainability is fairly high as the manufacturer claims it can last for 10 year if driven the car daily.
Part of 70mai family devices, nice app UX, so far to me the most elegant ones out there. Especially if you are using 70mai dashcam, really why not.

Cons
The stock stem only comes in silver(not really issue on normal cars), but for rims like our that comes with black trimmings, silver stem on black, that's gonna stand out + it looked cheap. I checked the other brand they too only comes in silver.
If the display unit comes with brightness setting that would be perfect. Otherwise it isn't so user friendly on daylight.
