I mean cannot sit at the side bench and snap... either must go podium or side of the podium.

so i go to G floor. Right above the podium, but my 3X optical zoom very sad...

Goldfries,
Good shots but still need to tune up a lil' bit :
1. White Balance - Running lights and yellow spots are never an excuse, practice makes perfect. Get to know your camera.
2. Positioning - Try to get a spot as close as the center as you possibly can. Models down the runway a best shown walking straight towards you.
3. Handholding - All your shots are blur to begin with and sharpened by post processing, hold your camera steady.

thank you very much!!! first outing with my DSLR leh. smile.gif

white-balance issue, yes i've worked on it already based on the advice from shinchan / nairud earlier. i donno why that day for some strange reason i forgot about white-balance setting. today also first round i forgot, later only remember. gila wan after go DSLR + fashion show = all forgot. sweat.gif

as positioning, it was crowded so i tried other angles instead. today i've worked on that one already too, so better runway pics. biggrin.gif

and hand-holding issue, the ones on 2nd page were the more blur ones. i just put it up with sharpening, they weren't the best of the pick for that day. many of the shots were blur that day due to various issues. and yes, worked on it already. i'll upload my new pics later tonight. rclxm9.gif

anyway your feedback is much appreciated. later you come feedback on my newest pictures la. notworthy.gif sifu feedbacks are important.

nooob feedbacks such as myself brian? smile.gif u accept kA? smile.gif

i love your shots, i can't tell wehther u did post processing (like ac98 said)
but i like it coz it's clear.

however, this model, with the stripped black white shirt... i feel it needed some headroom. chopped off the head of hers. but oh does the strips stand out smile.gif yum...

also i do agree, i find it a bit too warm. too much orange in the skin tone. unatural, so to speak. but strangely, everytime i take shots, i'd do what u do, compensate the WB so that it shows more orange. looking at the little LCD screen on my d70s, i find it too dull, if it's not warm. looking at the pics from ac98, henrylow, shinchan and others, i find their shots not so warm, but it brings out the beauty in the skin tone (yet to learn that smile.gif )

Added on April 22, 2007, 12:06 ambtw, how to know a pic is too orange, i guess u could look at the white stripes on that model's shirt. it supposed to be WHITE, instead it looks orange.

thx. personally i didn't like head chop off as well.

the additional fashion shots (from 14th April) on this page were just some extras i'd like to show case. not exactly my favs. smile.gif

it's yellowish-tinge can be seen on the entire picture actually. no need white shirt - cos really, how do you even know the shirt has white stripes? smile.gif right?

post processing were done, if it enhances the shot i see no wrong of doing it. smile.gif it was a white-balance setting error for me.

being n00bie in fashion photography, i wasn't expecting my shots to get praises in the first place.

it was challenging for me as i was without flash, using zooms (a lot) and the a lot lighting variations.

the point of show-casing my fashion shoot is to gain precious feedbacks to improve my shots.

thank all of you. btw i'm also n00b dude, so relax. we're all here to learn.

anyway stay tuned, i'm in the midst of preparing my latest photoshoot.

EDITED : i've not went through all my pics today but so far i'm a bit disappointed. feels over-exposed. well back to the drawing board!!!

ac98, it was (for me) a shutter speed issue but later on manage to more or less solve the problem. biggrin.gif

i'm using 350D, Tamron 70-300mm tele lens, no flash and my intention was not just to capture the models and their apparels but also to attempt to capture the background.

this week lighting different. bumped up to 1/200. still i find it over-exposed. then in the end at 1/320. much better.

i tried even faster shutter speed then the model will look less bright but background become dim. well, at least that's what i saw as i test around.

i did the best to my ability. biggrin.gif i'm too tired to upload my photos now, later i upload already you guys comment on it la.

wink.gif i do hope you guys will find it to be an improvement. thank you very much. in need of expert guidance.
