For those considering Ringke Fusion, bear in mind that you will experience a slight annoyance when the flap for the usb-c won't stay close. It's a shame since their case works perfectly with my old Nexus 5X.

For those who wants to try out Google Camera latest version ported from Pixel 2, can use the following:

MGC_5.1.014_7.0H_C2API_v.1.0_AllinOne modded by Arnova8G2 (xda)
Download source - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...2&postcount=995

I'm using this together with OOS 4.5.13 without any major issue other than the delay in HDR processing.

Settings for manual focus (ie, touch to focus) to work:
Model: Pixel2XL
Config camera HDR+: Nexus
HDR+ Parameter: Medium

Settings for best picture quality but manual focus doesn't work. Auto focus works well.
Model: Pixel2XL
Config camera HDR+: Pixel
HDR+ Parameter: High (Note: you can choose Super High here for even better HDR quality but the processing time will be longer)

When using Google Camera, remember to turn on HDR+ (auto HDR doesn't really work for me in my case)
This app will not replace your stock camera app, it will be installed side by side. For low light photography, Google Camera is the better performer if you're doing it handheld.

If you have a tripod for your low light photography, the stock camera Pro Mode (fully manual mode) would be a better choice.

Thanks for the link. It really annoys me that op is already looking to next product while leaving the camera half baked

Slow motion 120fps on Google Camera will require root
A magisk module can be installed to enable that

Why is that? Is the pixel cam only good to avoid shaking? I kept reading it's supposed to be a better cam in low light, but I can't really see much difference (previous versions - haven't tried this one yet). But maybe I have bad eyes (which I do).

Did you turn on HDR+ when using Google Camera with the correct settings? The difference is quite big under low light condition.

As for using the stock camera app Pro mode with tripod, you can easily set it to the lowest possible ISO and longer shutter speed. Basically you'll be taking a long exposure photo.
Low ISO to reduce noise, longer shutter speed to capture more light and the tripod to avoid shaking/hand-movement - that will easily create a good photo in the lowest possible lighting condition.

Thanks for the advise - will try the HDR+ again and see.

As for the tripod thing - what I meant was, if the pixel is better, why not just use that with the tripod instead of choosing the default cam?
