QUOTE(ghyeng @ Sep 21 2017, 08:54 AM) Still using 1+1 now and thinking to jump ship to 1+5. Should I wait for Christmas/end-of-the-year discount or get it straight from Qoo10 now? QUOTE(Al Puccino @ Sep 21 2017, 09:31 AM) Why wait when you get can get it now at good discounted price? By the time you wait, it will be Op5T already. And then wait again? I see many of you all rooting and unlocking the boot loader here. The stock fw not good enough? I feel that stock Oxygen is light and slick enough already. Not much bloatware and unwanted software.

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Sep 23 2017, 05:43 PM) There's always better than "good enough". Lots of small but significant things for me that can be done by rooting, and rooting must unlock bootloader. Can't explain all the small root features cuz it's personal to me and might not apply to you. I only remember I root during the early android days where Samsung TW was so heavily laced with bloatware it would be impossible not to root. Nowadays, I dont bother. One, stock android like Oxygen is 'slick' enough, two android phones are better spec'ed now and three, I dont really have the time to troubleshoot here and there when the phone runs into problems. List of my apps that uses root: ![]() Especially Tasker, Titanium backup, adblock and substratum. Also nova launcher with root can allow me swipe down anywhere on homescreen to show notifications, which I am super used to it and cannot let go. QUOTE(sharpex @ Sep 23 2017, 05:44 PM) +1 . Same here. QUOTE(k@|i0s @ Sep 23 2017, 05:47 PM) I would guess that would be the main reason. Unless the phone is not supported by Oneplus, which I would estimate to be years away, then maybe would I think about rooting. But since I change my phone each time a new iteration comes out, I would think otherwiese. |

QUOTE(evilhomura89 @ Sep 23 2017, 06:21 PM) Stock ROM but rooted with magisk - just tried, maybank app working already Like mentioned, different people have different needs. Need to tick the box for the app inside magisk manager's magisk hide then reboot Why be good enough when it can be even better? I'm just used to having root access and giving me ability to do more just like what zelleonhart is doing And I'm running modded apps such as iYTPB via Magisk (modded youtube to playback with screen off and skip ads), AdAway, Substranum Is your charger plugged into a properly grounded socket? You might want to try it on a different socket |

QUOTE(ave666 @ Sep 26 2017, 08:47 PM) I do own galaxy s5 before s6789. And i do noticed quite handy when its equiped with ois. Does 1+5 eis just like pixel? Yes, if you are used to point and shoot camera phonea with OIS, then you would notice it. With the Op5's camera, you need to position and focus before clicking the shoot button. |

QUOTE(ave666 @ Sep 27 2017, 08:18 AM) If you ask me, I would totally recommend this phone. Great performance, great battery life, near pure android fw. The only weakness would be the camera. Its in no way poor in the camera department, but its no where near the likes of cameras of the Ip7/7+ or the s8/s8+. |

QUOTE(Cloudx @ Sep 28 2017, 09:14 AM) hi guys..i just got my 1+5 for like a few days ago..just wondering..is the stock screen protector good? been using many phones so far the delivered screen protector is the nicest I've ever seen.. I don't even realize there is a screen protector at first Well tbh, its just a normal plastic type of screen protector with no oleophobic and tech like that. But it gets the job done, protecting the screen from scratches. I never remove them from my previous Op3 and Op3T as I find them to be good enough for my usage. QUOTE(mango1881 @ Sep 28 2017, 09:30 AM) Speaking of auto reboot, i do notice it once. Well, android is programmed to restart itself it it runs into unrecoverable errors. As long as it not a bootloop and happens often, then you are good.My phone is connected with Pebble watch. So if any norification or bluetooth disconnection, it will vibrate. When i realized, the phone is at the loading screen (that time my phone is in my pocket). Hope it doesnt end like LG (bootloop). QUOTE(cheikwei89 @ Sep 28 2017, 12:52 PM) just go directD try out the phone by yourself. I agree on this. Somehow pure android is really slicker and smoother compared to TW. But I dont agree though that TW crashes or hang as TW is really stable nowadays.for me , S8: better display , water proof , look elegance , high resolution 2K , better low light camera , Iris scanner , memory expandable. Oneplus 5 : dual camera , better front facing camera , stock android , high capacity of ram , save your pocket money , fast update (security patch) I tried s8 in digi store , feel like there is a delay 0.2-0.5 when u open up the apps and sometimes will hang , front and rear is glass once u drop consider bye bye d the front screen cost more then 1K+++ |

QUOTE(tachlio @ Sep 29 2017, 04:12 PM) found a quite useful setting Yup... AOD drains the battery really badly. I prefer Oneplus' display. You can also wave your hands over the proximity sensor located near the phone speaker to show the clock and notification display if you dont want to pick up your phone.Everytime you lift up display to around 45deg, it will show clock and notification. I found quite useful compare to always on display on Samsung. Edit... Apparently, Oneplus disable the Proximity wake function during this latest update. It cant be found in the Display settings anymore. This post has been edited by TOMEI-R: Sep 29 2017, 08:09 PM |

QUOTE(alternativehype @ Sep 30 2017, 01:27 AM) Maybe that explains the improvement in battery life on the lastest update. I still like the wave to display though.. Its one of the my favourite feature of the Oneplus. |

QUOTE(lifelyms @ Oct 3 2017, 02:40 AM) The guy that get delay is actually me , I bought from this seller last week, only received it today. The reason is actually not the seller ( partially the seller because they entered wrong tracking number). Thats very irresponsible of them. I thought they usually leave it on the reception or concierge? Can they really go up to your condo?Okay, here is the story, I track the item for one week, no result at all. Suddenly yesterday night when I came back from shopping mall, a parcel place just in front of my doorstep (I living in Condo, the doorstep is reachable from the pagar) . The GDEX GUY actually THREW the phone into there without even call me up. Luckily no people took it =.= My advise is, do you trust the Gdex guy in your area ? If yes, go for it... |

QUOTE(donleong @ Oct 4 2017, 04:19 PM) Don't have any problem encountered for hardware and software. Yes, fluidity is one of the best features of oneplus' near stock android Oxygen FW.I totally recommend this phone if you want to experience almost pure Android experience with high-end spec. I switch from Samsung phone, so far 1+5 is one of the smoothest phones I ever use. Can't go back to previous phone already No regret for buying it |
