Since you got desktop, no point to use your laptop as desktop replacement lor. I don't have so i need to use it like a desktop.
I don't think so. Do the way I tell you, check on the ram first, if confirm after upgrade and got lagging, take the ram go exchange.
*

Yup,mine lappy juz for mobility purpose.Like travelling around lor.

I did that very often. Now it is winter, sometimes use the laptop to warm my bed before I got to bed. laugh.gif

How do you suggest me to test the RAM? just i try open files or thing or there are software for benchmarking or other?
*
Put in different RAM, 2x512mb, 1x1gb and 2x1gb, arrange it yourself. Then try by opening files, software whatever that may make you feel it worst after upgrade. And also do the benchmarking as well.

You must remember, Vista IS slow... Especially booting up... But 5 mins is, bleh... sweat.gif

But, check your start-up with MSCONFIG (type it and press enter in the start menu search box), uncheck anything you don't think is needed... This should speed things up... thumbup.gif
