ordered on 20th Nov and received on 30th Nov. Today i just setup the ac86u. yet to test performance. 2.4 ghz signal more or less similar to my ac66u. updated firmware for krack issue.

My case is different. I got much poorer performance on 2.4 but way better on 5 ghz.

By the way I am using the smart connect feature. Could it be the reason? Anyone using this feature as well. I use the cut off point for 2.4 at -90 and 5 ghz at -70.

I used Smart connect at first, then i find it not so stable so i turn it off.

Still prefer to keep 2.4 and 5 ghz separately.

I am using manual wifi channel, auto is giving me coverage issue.

The WAN led issue has been fixed by Merlin prior to this. But, do you know which part do they improve the performance?

A quick range test with both latest firmware. AC68U uses Merlin while AC86U still on stock.

finally got my ASUS RT-AC86U from tmall at RMB860 which is approximate RM533

anyone here can share all settings need to set in wireless.. i got the high ping responses as compare to my previous RT-N66U

I'm connecting to 5Ghz to my iphone. Basically I need to know what is the recommended settings in Wireless so that I can get the optimal performance.
One thing I notice, with Asus firmware, I can't find the Tx Power while Merlin has.

I always confuse on 2.4ghz and 5ghz wireless setting such as channel width (20, 40, 80). Please share out your wireless setting.
